Usage Credits for Texting, Email, Voicemail and Validation
Bulk texts, email blasts, ringless voicemail drops and list validation all run from one prepaid balance. Buy a pack in My LeadLocate and the CRM is ready to send the moment the order clears.
What are usage credits in LeadLocate?
Every LeadLocate plan puts eight marketing tools on the dock at the bottom of the CRM, under Marketing Tools: Bulk Texting, Texting Chatbots, Text Automation, Voicemail Drops, Phone Validator, Bulk Email, Email Automation and Email Validator. Five of those tools send or check at volume, and volume runs on Usage Credits. A credit is one unit of work: one bulk text, one bulk email, one ringless voicemail delivery, one phone number checked or one email address checked. The store buys credits in packs, the balance sits on the account, and every send draws from it.
That is the whole idea, and it is why dealers like it. There is no second vendor to sign with, no separate login for the texting service, no list to export to a blast tool and import back again. The customer records live in the CRM, the tools live in the CRM, and the credits that power the tools are bought from the same account portal that holds the store's invoices. The packs come in these sizes:
| Credit type | Pack sizes | Where it is spent |
|---|---|---|
| Bulk texting | 3,000, 5,000 or 10,000 messages | Bulk Texting |
| Bulk email | 3,000, 5,000 or 10,000 emails | Bulk Email |
| Ringless voicemail | 500, 1,000 or 5,000 deliveries | Voicemail Drops |
| Phone validation | 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 lookups | Phone Validator |
| Email validation | 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 lookups | Email Validator |
Pack prices sit on the pricing page, and the price of each pack is shown beside it in the portal before anything is charged.
How does a dealership use bulk SMS credits on a normal day?
Picture a BDC manager on a Monday with a list of customers who bought three to five years ago. The first job is the Phone Validator: paste the numbers or upload the CSV, name the list, and the results come back with a Do Not Call flag on every number and a report link in the lookup history. That run spends phone validation credits, and it is the cheapest insurance a campaign can buy, because every dead or flagged number removed now is a text that never has to be paid for.
The cleaned list goes into Bulk Texting with a short equity message and a trackable link, and the send draws on bulk SMS credits, one per message. Replies land in the two way texting inbox on each customer's own thread, and the rep who owns the customer gets the alert. By Wednesday the manager sends a ringless voicemail from the store's used car manager to everyone who did not answer the text, and on Thursday the same offer goes out through Bulk Email to the addresses the Email Validator passed. Four channels, one list, one balance, and every touch is written to the customer's timeline.
Friday afternoon, before the weekend sale, the manager opens My LeadLocate and looks at the balance tiles. If the Saturday reminder text needs more credits than the account holds, a pack is bought in a minute and the balance is ready for the send.

Where do the credits show up in the CRM and in My LeadLocate?
Inside the CRM, credits live where they are spent. The Bulk Texting page shows the message credit balance beside an Add Credits button, and the Phone Validator and Email Validator each show a Credits figure before a run, so the person pressing send always knows what the account holds. Nobody has to leave the page to check.
In My LeadLocate, the account portal, credits have their own card on the billing page called Service Credits. It shows the prepaid balance and one tile for each credit type with its live balance, and underneath it the Refill & Add-on Products picker lists every pack grouped by credit type with its price. Choose a pack, press Pay Online for the secure checkout or Pay with Prepaid Balance, and the credits are applied to the account right away. The purchase lands in the account's billing history with every other invoice and receipt, so the office manager reconciles one statement instead of five. The step by step guide to buying usage credits walks through every click.
Ringless voicemail for car dealers: how the deliveries work
Voicemail Drops is the tile under Marketing Tools that delivers a recorded message to a whole recipient list, straight to voicemail, without ringing the phones. A salesperson or manager records the message once in the browser, or uploads a professionally produced file to the Voicemail Drop Files library, picks the list and sends. Each delivery draws one ringless voicemail credit, and the packs come in 500, 1,000 or 5,000 deliveries.
Dealers use ringless voicemail because a human voice gets a callback that a text sometimes does not. A service customer hears the sales manager say the store has buyers waiting for their model. A lease customer hears their own salesperson mention the end of term. When customers call back, the call rings the store's tracking number, lands on the Calls page with the recording, and sits on the lead's timeline next to the drop that prompted it. The ringless voicemail marketing guide for dealerships covers the campaign side in depth.
Phone number validation and an email validation service, built into the CRM
Most stores pay a separate email validation service and a separate phone number validation service, upload a list to each, download the results and import them back. In LeadLocate the validators are two tiles on the dock. The Phone Validator takes numbers one per line or a CSV file, names the list, and returns a Do Not Call column and a Scrubbed column per number, a report link and a row in the Phone Lookup History. The Email Validator does the same for addresses, with its own Email Lookup History. Each number or address checked uses one validation credit, sold in packs of 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000.
The results do not stay in a report. Validity shows as a dot on the lead record, for the phone and for the email, so a salesperson sees at a glance whether a number has been checked before clicking to call. Validation is list hygiene for your outbound calling, texting and email. Every lead your zone produces is still delivered to you and only you, prescreened at capture, and backed by a replacement review.
What do usage credits replace, and what does the same stack cost elsewhere?
A store that runs outbound marketing without LeadLocate usually carries four or five subscriptions: a bulk SMS platform, an email blast service, a ringless voicemail service and one or two validation services. Each one has its own contract, its own login, its own minimum, its own list upload and its own invoice. Replies from the texting service arrive in a separate inbox that the CRM never sees, and the voicemail service knows nothing about which customers already bought.
Usage Credits collapse that into one balance on one bill. The texts go out on the store's own tracking numbers, the emails go out from the store's own authenticated domain, replies come home to the CRM inbox, and every message, drop and call back is on the customer's record. The tools themselves are part of every plan, including CRM Only from $199, and every plan is month to month. The credits are the only moving part, and a store buys exactly the packs its campaigns call for. For how texting fits a full marketing program, the dealership SMS marketing automation page is the counterpart guide.
The compliance angle: clean lists before volume
Volume is where a store's process matters most, and LeadLocate builds the process into the tools. The DNC Blacklist hides a blocked contact from every CRM view, including the recipient lists for bulk texting and bulk email, so a customer who asked to be left alone is never on the next send. The blacklist imports the store's existing do not contact list by CSV and runs a live do not call lookup on any number. The Phone Validator adds a Do Not Call flag to every number on a list before the list is used.
Every text, email and voicemail drop is written to the communications log on the lead, with who sent it and when, which is the record a store points to when a customer asks what was sent. Treat a ringless voicemail like a call: contact people who asked to hear from you, scrub the list first, and check the rules in your state with your own counsel. The TCPA guide for dealership texting covers consent and opt outs in detail.
How do you turn usage credits on?
The tools are on from the first day of every account. The account admin, or whoever holds billing in My LeadLocate, signs in to the portal, opens billing and scrolls to Service Credits. Pick a pack under Refill & Add-on Products, pay online or from the prepaid balance, and the credits are applied to the account right away. The balance tiles update on the same screen, and the Marketing Tools pages in the CRM show the new figure the next time they are opened.
A smart first order is one pack of each validation type and a bulk texting pack sized to the largest list, then a refill as campaigns grow. Anything a store wants that is not on the shelf today, a pack size or a credit type, is available on request, and our team puts it in production for your dealership.
What should you pair usage credits with?
Credits are fuel, and the engine is the list. Trackable short links in every bulk text show who clicked, so the second send goes to the interested customers first. Automated Templates keep the one to one follow up running while the bulk campaigns do the reach. Bulk Email carries the long version of the offer that a text can only point to.
And when the database has been worked and the store wants fresh names to send to, LeadLocate add-ons put extra inbound lead sets and extra sales zones on the active plan. Every feature is listed on the all features page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are bulk SMS credits?
Bulk SMS credits are the prepaid messages the Bulk Texting tool in LeadLocate CRM draws on, one credit per text. They come in packs of 3,000, 5,000 or 10,000 messages, bought in My LeadLocate and applied to the account right away.
Are the tools an extra cost, or only the credits?
The tools are part of every LeadLocate plan, including CRM Only from $199. Bulk Texting, Bulk Email, Voicemail Drops and the two validators are on the dock from day one. Credits power the volume, and pack prices are on the pricing page.
Can I send ringless voicemail with usage credits?
Yes. Voicemail Drops under Marketing Tools delivers a recorded message to a list straight to voicemail, and each delivery uses one ringless voicemail credit. Packs come in 500, 1,000 or 5,000 deliveries.
Is phone number validation a separate service?
No. The Phone Validator and the Email Validator are tiles on the dock inside LeadLocate CRM. Paste a list or upload a CSV, and each number or address checked uses one validation credit from packs of 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000.
How fast can I use credits after I buy them?
Right away. Credits bought in My LeadLocate are applied to the account as soon as the purchase clears, and the balance tiles on the Service Credits card show the new figure on the same screen.
Who on my team can buy credits?
Anyone whose My LeadLocate login reaches billing, usually the account admin or the billing contact. Salespeople and BDC agents spend credits from the CRM, and the account holder keeps control of what is bought.
