Bulk Texting: Message Everyone at Once, Compliantly
Sometimes the store has one thing to say to four hundred people. Bulk Texting sends it from the CRM, on your numbers, with opt outs honored and a history a manager can read.
What Bulk Texting does, in one sentence
Bulk Texting sends one message to many customers at once from inside LeadLocate CRM, on the store's own tracking numbers, with the store's opt out list applied before anything leaves and a history of every send kept afterward. It is the tool for the event weekend, the service special, the end of month push and the holiday hours notice, the messages that are the same for everyone and do not need a salesperson typing them one at a time.
It is not a separate marketing platform with its own login and its own contact list. The recipients come from the CRM, the replies land in the two way texting inbox where the reps already work, and the customer who answers a store wide text at 6 p.m. is answered by a person from the thread that already holds their lead. The dealership SMS marketing automation page covers strategy, cadence and consent in depth; this page is the tool, control by control.
How a BDC manager uses it on a normal day
It is Thursday, and the store has a tent sale starting Saturday. The BDC manager opens the dock, clicks Marketing Tools, then Bulk Texting. The page is the Bulk TEXT Messenger. In the Campaign field she picks the saved recipient list she built last month of customers who asked about used trucks, so she is not pasting numbers by hand. In Template she picks the store's event text and edits one line for the dates. She attaches the flyer the Design Studio produced on Tuesday, reads the outgoing message once more, and clicks Send Bulk TEXT. The page answers TEXT Blast is Queued.
By Thursday evening the replies are arriving in the texting inbox, each one on the thread of the customer who sent it, each one raising a Text Reply Alert on the phone of the rep who owns that lead. Two people reply with a stop word and are opted out automatically; nobody at the store has to do anything about them. On Friday morning the manager opens Bulk Text History on the same page and sees the send with its date, Sent By, Total Sent and Status. She did not export a list, upload a file to another vendor, or wonder whether the replies went anywhere.

Recipients: paste a list, or use one you saved
The Recipients field takes phone numbers one per line, which is the fast path for a short list a manager already has. For anything the store will message more than once, Bulk TEXT Recipients keeps named recipient lists: the used truck shoppers, the service customers due this quarter, the leads from the spring event. A list is chosen in the Campaign field at send time, so the second send to the same audience is a template and a click rather than a rebuild.
Because the lists live in the CRM, they are lists of customers the store actually knows, with a lead record, a Customer Profile and a communications log behind each number. That is the difference between bulk texting from a CRM and bulk texting from a spreadsheet: the reply is not an orphan. It lands on a real thread, with the customer's history, in front of the rep who owns them. A pasted number with no contact record still sends, and the thread it starts is right there in the inbox when the customer answers.
Templates, attachments and a vehicle in the message
The Template field pulls from the store's saved texts, so the wording a manager approved is the wording that goes out, and a rep running a send does not have to compose from a blank box. The Attachment field sends a picture or a file as MMS to every recipient, which is how a flyer, a coupon or a photo of the incoming inventory reaches a customer's messaging app as an image rather than a link. When a message carries a link, a trackable short link with click stats tells the store afterward how many people opened it.
Through the same texting stack, a bulk message goes out as RCS to phones that support it and as SMS to the rest, automatically, per handset; the RCS messaging with SMS fallback page explains the mechanism. The store writes one message and does not maintain two audiences. Sends draw on message credits, and the page shows the balance with an Add Credits button beside it, so a manager knows before clicking whether the blast will complete.
Where it lives, and what it replaces
Bulk Texting is the first item under Marketing Tools in the dock at the bottom of the CRM, next to Texting Chatbots, Text Automation, Voicemail Drops, Phone Validator, Bulk Email, Email Automation and Email Validator. The recipient lists are on their own page under the same tool, and the replies are in the Messaging menu's inbox. Nothing about it requires leaving the CRM or signing into anything else.
It replaces the standalone mass texting service most stores have tried at least once: the one with the per seat price, the separate contact upload, the short code that customers do not recognize, and the reply inbox that no salesperson ever opened. Those tools cost money every month, and they cost more than money, because a customer who replied to a marketing text and heard nothing back has learned something about the store. Here the send is part of every plan on the pricing page, it goes out on the numbers customers already have saved, and the reply reaches a person.
Compliantly is the important word
Texting hundreds of consumers at once is exactly the activity texting law was written about, so the tool is built so the careful path is the default. A customer who replies with a stop word to any message, bulk or one to one, is opted out automatically, added to the two way blacklist and told so, and any campaign they were on is listed in the confirmation. A help word gets a reply that identifies the store and how to reach it. The DNC Blacklist page holds the numbers the store must never text, blocks inbound spam in both directions, and runs a live do not call lookup on numbers. The Phone Validator, two items down in the same Marketing Tools menu, shows validity dots on each lead so a list can be cleaned before it is sent rather than after the failures come back.
What the tool does not do is decide for the store whether a list has consent. That is the store's obligation, and the TCPA compliance for dealership texting page lays out the rules plainly. What the CRM provides is the record: every bulk send in Bulk Text History with the sender and count, every message on the customer's thread with its delivery status, every opt out applied by the system rather than by memory. A store that is asked how it handles a stop request has a written answer.
How to turn it on
There is nothing to turn on. Bulk Texting is in the dock under Marketing Tools from the first day, on the store's tracking numbers, for users whose role allows it. The first send is a list, a template and a click. If a store wants a specific sending schedule, a throttle for very large lists or a dedicated number for marketing sends, that is available on request, and our team puts it in production for your dealership.
If we are ever briefly unreachable, the messages already sent are on customers' phones and the numbers are yours; replies that arrive during the interruption reach the inbox when it is back, and Bulk Text History keeps the record of every send that went out. If you want to see a send before you sign up, the pre-recorded live demo walks through one.
What to pair it with
Bulk Texting is the loud tool. It works best next to the quiet ones. Text Automation handles the messages that should go to one person at the right moment, the reply on lead receipt and the follow up steps by lead type, so the bulk send is reserved for what is genuinely store wide. Texting Chatbots turn a printed keyword into a growing recipient list, which is where the audience for the next bulk send comes from. Voicemail Drops, in the same menu, deliver a recorded message to a list for the customers who answer voicemail and ignore texts.
On the email side, Bulk Email does the same job with the same recipient thinking, and the Email Validator cleans an address list the way the Phone Validator cleans a number list. All of it is on the all features page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Bulk Texting in the CRM?
In the dock at the bottom of LeadLocate CRM, under Marketing Tools, first item. The page is the Bulk TEXT Messenger, with Recipients, Campaign, Template, Attachment, the outgoing message, a Send Bulk TEXT button and Bulk Text History underneath. Saved lists are on the Bulk TEXT Recipients page.
Do I have to paste numbers every time?
No. Paste numbers one per line for a quick send, or build a named recipient list once under Bulk TEXT Recipients and choose it in the Campaign field. The second send to the same audience is a template and a click.
What happens when someone replies STOP to a bulk text?
They are opted out automatically, added to the two way blacklist, told which campaigns they were removed from, and no user or automation texts that number again. A help word gets a reply identifying the store.
Where do the replies go?
To the two way texting inbox, on the thread of the customer who replied, with a Text Reply Alert to the rep who owns that lead. A bulk send from the CRM never creates a second inbox.
Can I send a picture or a flyer with a bulk text?
Yes. The Attachment field sends a picture or file as MMS to every recipient. On phones that support RCS the message goes out in the richer format automatically, and as SMS everywhere else.
Is Bulk Texting an extra product?
No. It is part of LeadLocate CRM on every plan, including CRM Only from $199 a month. Sends draw on message credits shown on the page beside an Add Credits button. Plans are on the pricing page.
