Text a Credit Application Link in Under a Minute

A customer asks what it takes to get approved. The salesperson opens Send a Text, drops in the store's SecureWebX apply link, and the finished application is in the F&I inbox before the customer is off the couch.

To text a credit application link from LeadLocate CRM, a salesperson opens Send a Text on any lead, inserts the store's branded SecureWebX apply link, and sends. The customer completes a five step secure application on their phone, with co-applicant and e-signature, and the finished application lands in the SecureWebX application inbox with the lead record updated. The whole send takes under a minute.

When does a salesperson need to text a credit application link?

The trigger is a sentence you hear every day. A customer on the phone asks what they need to bring to get approved. A shopper who texted about a truck wants to know the payment before they drive forty minutes. A couple at the desk would rather fill out the application on their own phone than hand you a paper form and wait. In every one of those moments, the fastest thing a salesperson can do is put a credit application in the customer's hand right now, and the customer's hand is holding a phone.

The old way was to email a PDF, point the customer at a link buried three clicks deep on the website, or promise to have F&I call back. Each of those adds an hour or a day, and each one is a chance for the customer to fill out somebody else's form first. This page walks the LeadLocate version of that moment step by step, with the screen names you will actually see, from the tap on Send a Text to the application sitting in the finance office. The online credit application software page covers the strategy; this page is the product side, in order.

Where does the link come from, and does it carry my store's name?

Step one happens once, not every time. The link is a SecureWebX apply link, and every dealership gets its own, branded to the store rather than to us. Each apply link is customizable from the SecureWebX console: extra sections, custom fields, document uploads and the disclosures your state requires can be added to one link and left off another, so a subprime desk and a prime desk can hand out different links from the same account. A store that wants one link for the website and one for texting can run both and see which one the applications came from.

The console lives one click away from the CRM. The SecureWebX button on the dock opens it under the same login through ecosystem single sign on, and the store's users and tracking phone numbers sync across, so there is no second user list to set up before anyone can send a link. The SecureWebX product page lays out the whole console; for this workflow, the only thing a salesperson needs to know is that the link exists and where to find it.

How does the text go out in under a minute?

Step two is the send, and it starts from the lead. Open the customer's record, or hit Send a Text in the top bar of any screen, and the texting inbox composer opens against that customer's thread. Insert the apply link. Trackable short links turn the long URL into something that fits a text and report back who clicked, which matters in a minute. If the salesperson wants help with the wording, the AI writing assistant drafts the message in the customer's context and AI merge fields drop in the name and the vehicle. Voice dictation lets a rep on the lot talk instead of type. Tap send.

The text leaves from the store's own tracking number, and the bubble shows delivery status, sent, delivered or failed, so nobody has to ask whether it went through. RCS messaging runs where the customer's phone supports it and falls back to SMS automatically. The send itself is under a minute from opening the record because nothing on the path requires leaving the CRM.

The link can also go out without a salesperson touching it. Automated Templates can carry the apply link in the first reply for a financing feed, so a lead that arrives from a credit campaign at nine at night gets the application in the auto reply. Text Automation and keyword triggers can send it when a customer texts back a word like apply. A salesperson who wants the credit conversation to start the moment the lead does can set that up once per feed and stop thinking about it.

What does the customer see when they tap the link?

The customer sees the store's name and a five step online credit application built for a phone: personal, residence, employment, income, then a review step before they sign. A co-applicant can be added inside the same application, which is the difference between one submission and a second phone call. The form accepts an ITIN as well as a Social Security number, asks for income and down payment, and carries a trade-in section, so the finance office gets the full picture rather than a name and a number. If the store turned on document uploads for that link, the customer can attach a pay stub or a license photo from the phone's camera as part of the same session.

At the end the customer signs electronically, and the consent is captured against versioned terms, so the exact wording the customer agreed to is on the record. Bot protection sits on the public form so the inbox holds applications from people rather than scripts. Everything the customer typed is encrypted at rest in SecureWebX, which is its own application under the same login. The co-buyer workflow goes deeper on the two applicant case.

What happens if the customer stops halfway through?

Some will. A customer who starts the application in the parking lot at work and gets called back inside is a normal Tuesday, not a lost deal. Step three covers that: SecureWebX feeds an abandoned application back to the CRM for follow up, so the lead record shows that the customer opened the form and how far they got, and the salesperson's next text can be about finishing it rather than a cold check in. Follow Up Processes can carry that touch automatically as part of the drip for a financing lead type.

The click stats on the short link tell the same story from the other end. A customer who never tapped the link needs a different message than one who opened it and stalled at employment. The abandoned credit application follow up page covers the cadence and the wording; the product side is that the signal reaches the rep without anyone exporting anything.

Where does the finished application land, and what does F&I do with it?

Step four is the finance office. The completed application appears in the SecureWebX application inbox and moves through a pipeline with a status, an assignee, an amount, notes and email against each submission. The dashboard carries live badges, so the F&I manager sees the new application arrive without refreshing. Supporting documents the customer uploaded sit on the submission, and a stipulations workflow lets the office request what is missing and lets the customer upload to fulfill it.

From there the deal gets penciled. SecureWebX worksheets build cash, finance and lease pencils at parity with the CRM desking engine, and a worksheet already built in CRM desking can be pushed into SecureWebX and attached to the application. The deal vehicle section decodes the VIN, looks up a stock number against the store's inventory, and runs title, stolen, sales, auction and warranty checks, with Kelley Blue Book QuickValues book-outs inside the worksheet.

When the office is ready, Send to Lender shares the application with a lender the store chooses: a code-gated, expiring, revocable, watermarked share with a lender response portal and a decision webhook. It is a secure share to whichever lender you pick, and the application can also be exported to your lender or DMS in the format it expects. The subprime deal desk workflow follows the application from here through the decision.

What does the manager see?

Two views, one on each side of the login. In the CRM, the communications log on the lead shows the text that carried the link, its delivery status, and the click on the short link, next to every call, email and voicemail for that customer. The Reports dashboard on the dock covers activity reporting, so a sales manager can see which reps are sending apply links and which are still promising a callback. Because tracking numbers are per source, the manager can tell which feed produced the customers who applied.

In SecureWebX, the manager sees the pipeline by status and assignee, reports and analytics with PDF export, and a full audit log of who opened, shared or changed any application. That last one is what a compliance question turns on months later, and it is written automatically rather than by a rep remembering to note it. Every application the customer submits reaches the inbox, and a lead problem on the CRM side costs the store nothing, because Quality Control Requests and replacement review handle it after delivery, as the what to expect page explains.

Which compliance checks run inside these steps?

They are built into the path rather than bolted on afterward. Before the text leaves, the DNC Blacklist is in play: a number blocked there is blocked in both directions, the store's own list imports, and a live do not call lookup is available on any number. The customer asked for the application, so the text is an answer to a request, and the thread on the record shows that.

On the application itself, consent is captured with versioned terms, state specific disclosures are added, edited and deleted per store, and the privacy notice and terms editor keeps the store's wording current, with forced terms acceptance for every user on the console. OFAC screening runs against the applicant. Adverse action notices are generated from the application record when a deal does not go through. Bureau access stays the store's own: SecureWebX stores the store's bureau key and any pull runs on the dealership's account, not ours. Two factor authentication guards every sign in, uploads are virus scanned, PDFs open in a watermarked viewer with print and download gated, and archiving retains every record rather than deleting it. The disclosures and privacy notices page covers each control in detail.

How do we start, and what does it cost?

Start in the SecureWebX console: open apply links, brand the store's link, add the disclosures and any document uploads you want, and copy it. Put it in the Automated Templates reply for your financing feeds and in a saved text for the floor. Then have one salesperson text it to one customer and watch the application arrive in the inbox. That is the entire rollout, and most stores do it in an afternoon.

SecureWebX opens from the LeadLocate CRM dock under one login, month to month, with no long term contract, and current plans are on the pricing page. An inventory feed and DMS access are not required. The platform is built so your store keeps selling: each product is its own application under one login, your apply links keep taking applications at any hour a customer has time to fill one out, every submitted application is safe in the console, and your DMS and your main phone line stay the store's own. Watch the recorded demo, or reach a person on the contact page who will set the link up with you. More workflows are on the solutions hub, and the CRM with credit application page explains why the two belong in one login.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the apply link branded to my dealership?

Yes. Every store gets its own SecureWebX apply link carrying the store's name, and each link can be customized with extra sections, custom fields, document uploads and disclosures. A store can run more than one link and see which one each application came from.

Does the customer need an app to fill it out?

No. The link opens a five step application in the phone's browser: personal, residence, employment, income and review, with a co-applicant option, ITIN or Social Security number, income, down payment, a trade-in section and e-signature at the end.

Can the link go out automatically instead of from a salesperson?

Yes. Automated Templates can include the apply link in the first reply for a financing feed, and Text Automation with keyword triggers can send it when a customer texts a word like apply. A salesperson can still send it by hand from Send a Text on any lead.

What if the customer starts the application and stops?

SecureWebX feeds the abandoned application back to the CRM for follow up, so the lead shows how far the customer got, and the short link reports whether they tapped it at all. Follow Up Processes can carry the reminder automatically.

Does LeadLocate pull the customer's credit?

No. The bureau relationship is the store's own. SecureWebX stores the dealership's bureau key and any pull runs on the store's account. The application itself is shared with a lender the store chooses through Send to Lender, a code-gated, expiring, watermarked share.

Do the apply links keep working, and is the application data safe?

Yes to both. Each product is its own application under one login, so an apply link you have already texted keeps taking applications and the console keeps working them. Every submitted application is archived rather than deleted, and your DMS, your main phone line and your dealership website stay the store's own.
