Advertising Integrations

Simpli.fi Integration for Car Dealers

Addressable geofencing and unstructured data targeting, the vendor most often already in the building, and where it stands with our gateway.

LeadLocate does not connect to this platform today, and the request queue is what decides when it gets built. No adapter file exists in the ad gateway for it, and the vendor issues API access against a commercial arrangement rather than a public developer program. The directory publishes that test on every entry.

What Simpli.fi actually is, in dealership terms

Simpli.fi is the programmatic vendor most likely to already be selling your store something. Its automotive book is unusually deep, and when a dealership says it is already doing programmatic, this is the name that comes back more often than any other.

Two capabilities explain the position. The first is unstructured data targeting, which means bidding against the raw signal attached to an impression rather than against a packaged audience segment somebody else assembled. In practice that lets a buyer chase very specific behaviour, such as somebody reading a review of one particular model, instead of buying a broad in market bucket.

The second is addressable geofencing, and it is the one dealers recognise. Draw a boundary around a competitor's lot, a service drive, an auction or a stadium, and reach the devices that were inside it. Draw it around a list of household addresses and reach those homes specifically. It is the tactic behind most conquest pitches a store hears, and the full argument for and against it sits on geofencing advertising for dealers.

Why a dealership would spend money here

The case is precision at a local scale. A store does not need national reach, it needs the right few thousand households inside a trade area, and a platform built to slice signal that finely can find them without paying for a state. Conquest boundaries around competitors, service reminders aimed at households known to own an ageing unit of a given make, and tight radius awareness around a new location are all straightforward here and awkward on a general network.

The honest objection is that precision is easy to sell and hard to verify. Device level location data is noisy. A boundary drawn around a busy lot on a main road catches passing traffic, drive through customers and the staff of the business next door, and the resulting audience is smaller and dirtier than the pitch suggests. Attribution back to a walk in is modelled rather than counted, and a modelled number can be produced whether or not the campaign worked.

The second objection is commercial opacity. Much of this platform's volume moves through resellers and white labelled partners, so the store frequently cannot see how its budget splits between media and margin. That is not a reason to avoid the channel. It is a reason to ask for the split in writing, and to be suspicious of any answer that arrives as a single blended number.

Where Simpli.fi stands with LeadLocate today

Available on request. The published test is that nothing has been started and demand decides the order, and it applies here exactly: no adapter file exists for this platform in the ad gateway, no authorization URL, no checklist, nothing partial.

Access class is CERTIFIED, which is the vendor's gate rather than ours. API access follows a contract, a certification or an agreed spend commitment, so a credential arrives after a commercial conversation rather than after a developer registration. A store that is already buying from this vendor, directly or through a reseller, holds the piece of that puzzle we cannot supply on our own.

There is a specific reason to be careful with this entry. Because this vendor is often already in the building, a dealership can reasonably assume that adding our CRM alongside it creates a connection between the two. It does not. Nothing about the buy currently running through this platform reaches our system, and nothing in our system reaches it. Publishing that flatly is worth more to you than a logo would be.

What data would move, and in which direction

A design, and nothing more. There is no code.

DirectionWhat would move
Out to the platformCampaign structure, the geographic radius around the store, budget and flight dates, and the creative variants chosen in Leads Manager
Back from the platformSpend, impressions and clicks against campaigns created through the connection, plus the accounts a connected credential can reach
Stored on our sideAn encrypted credential, a record of which objects were created under which credentials, and an append only event log stamped in UTC
Never movesYour customer list, any address or household file, your inventory feed, and any hashed audience built from them

Read that last row against the platform's best known feature. Addressable targeting runs from a list of addresses, and the row says plainly that no such list travels out of our system, which is the difference between describing a capability and claiming one.

How the ad gateway works underneath

What makes an unbuilt platform an estimate rather than a guess is that every network answers the same contract.

Inside LeadLocate one library defines what an advertising platform must be able to do: hand us an authorization URL, exchange the code for a token, list the accounts you own, deploy a campaign, pause or resume it, return spend and results, and prove on demand that the connection still works. Seven operations, one adapter file per network. A platform at not started has no file, and that is the whole of what the status means.

The rest is built and shared. Credentials are encrypted before storage using AES-256-GCM. Every action against a network is written to an append only audit log carrying the company, the network, the user and the detail, stamped in UTC on purpose, because these tables are shared across dealerships and a timezone relative timestamp is one nobody can reconcile later. Campaign objects record which credentials created them and re-resolve those credentials afterwards, so an account disconnected next quarter does not leave orphaned work. On a platform where the commercial layer is opaque, having our own actions on the record is the part worth having.

Managed by us, or connected to your own account

Two ways to advertise through LeadLocate, and the store chooses.

The first is the webXintel Ads Network. It is included, our team builds and runs the campaigns from the selections you make in Leads Manager, and it arrives as one line rather than a stack of platform invoices. No commitment to negotiate with a third party and no certification to clear.

The second is your own account. Connect the advertising account your store already holds and campaigns route through it instead, on your billing, in your name, with the spend history intact. On a certified platform sold largely through resellers, that route depends on who the account actually belongs to, and the answer is not always the store even when the invoice arrives at the store. Worth checking before you request, because it changes the project.

One limit applies across the whole gateway and belongs here rather than in a footnote: pushing, pausing and reading numbers from a network is done by our team today rather than from your dashboard. That is a deliberate constraint while the connection layer is young, and it is on the list to open up.

What going live would take, and when you could measure it

Commercial first, engineering second. Agree the terms that entitle someone to API access, since this vendor issues credentials against a relationship. Establish whose relationship it is, which on a reseller heavy platform is a real question. Then the adapter file, the credential exchange, account listing, campaign creation, status changes, reporting and verification.

Nothing in that second list is exotic. The first list is where these projects stall, and a request that already answers it is worth several that do not.

On measurement, be careful with what this channel proves. Display bought against location signal produces clicks quickly and produces confidence slowly, because the interesting outcome is a visit rather than a form fill and a visit is inferred rather than observed. Ask for the methodology behind any lift number, from us or from anybody else. And keep the fast reading channels separate in your reporting rather than averaging everything into one cost per lead, which is the reasoning set out on car dealership advertising.

What we will not claim about Simpli.fi

This platform makes one particular overreach almost irresistible, so it goes first.

We do not upload or export an address list, a customer file or any hashed audience. Addressable geofencing runs from exactly that kind of file, and nothing in our product produces one for any advertising platform. If you want your service database turned into an addressable audience, that is not a thing we do.

We do not install or manage a tracking tag on your website, so click through measurement and any site based attribution depend on tagging we neither place nor maintain.

We do not ingest walk in or lot visit attribution, and no modelled visit number from this or any platform is reconciled against our lead record by us.

We do not emit a vehicle catalog, so creative rendering your live inventory is not delivered through this route.

We do not run a server side conversions API or upload offline conversions.

No campaign has ever been deployed to this platform from the CRM, because no adapter exists that could deploy one. Everything above is design, and the page says so rather than letting the reader assume otherwise.

If you want Simpli.fi on your store

Ask, with the store named. Requests are recorded against the platform they name and counted, and the count decides build order, because a dealership ready to spend on a channel is a stronger signal than a roadmap meeting nobody outside the building can audit.

Two details matter more here than on most entries. Whether you already buy from this vendor and through whom, since the reseller layer decides who holds the credential. And what you actually want to target, because a boundary around a competitor's lot and a campaign aimed at your own owner base are different asks, and only one of them runs into the audience limit named above.

Meanwhile the managed path runs today and none of this holds it up. Pricing for the platform is on the pricing page and does not change based on which networks you turn on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does LeadLocate integrate with Simpli.fi today?

No. There is no adapter file for this platform in the ad gateway, so nothing partial exists to describe. It sits at available on request, which means not started, with demand deciding the order.

Can I use my own Simpli.fi account?

Not through the CRM, since there is nothing to connect it to yet. It is also worth confirming whether the account is yours or a reseller's, because on this platform that is often not obvious from the invoice.

What happens if I request Simpli.fi?

It is recorded against this platform by name and counted, and the tally decides build order. A person replies with a range or a reason, and will tell you if the commercial gate rather than our engineering is the blocker.

Can you geofence a list of my past customers' addresses?

No. That requires exporting an address or customer file and we produce no such export for any platform. It is the most commonly assumed capability on this page and it is not one we have.

How reliable is walk in attribution from a geofence?

It is modelled, not counted. Location data is noisy and a boundary catches passers by as well as shoppers, so treat a lift figure as directional and ask whoever produced it to explain the method before you spend against it.

We already buy from this vendor. Does adding your CRM connect the two?

No. Nothing currently running on that platform reaches our system and nothing in ours reaches it. Running both does not create a connection, and that is worth stating flatly because the assumption is common.
