GIF Ads for Car Dealers: Design Studio GIF Maker

A still photo gets a glance. A short loop of the exact car the customer asked about, sitting in the text thread under the rep's name, gets a reply. GIF Ads makes that loop from your inventory and hands it to the composer.

GIF Ads in LeadLocate Design Studio makes GIF ads for car dealers from the store's live inventory and offers: a short looping ad with motions like Photo Tour, sized for a text or an email. It saves to My GIFs and the File Library, and Text it to a lead or Email it to a lead opens the CRM composer with the GIF attached for the rep to send.

What GIF ads for car dealers do that a photo does not

GIF Ads sits on the Design Studio rail right under Image Ads, and it is the same ad maker with a different output. Instead of a still picture it makes a short looping GIF: the unit's photos step through their angles, the price gets its moment, the headline builds in, and the loop starts again. Every one of these animated car ads begins as a complete still ad. The first frame is the finished piece and the motion is laid over it, so the ad reads correctly at any instant a customer glances at it.

The point of GIF ads for car dealers is the text thread. A GIF arrives as a picture message in the same conversation as the rep's last text and plays right there, with no link to tap, no app to open and no play button. A video file is too heavy for a picture text, and a link to one asks the customer to leave the conversation. In email a GIF plays inside the message in most inboxes. GIF Ads is built for those two places.

Every GIF it makes goes out the way every other message in LeadLocate CRM does: from the store's number, on the customer's thread in the two way texting inbox, sent by a person. The source is the same inventory Inventory Link imports from your website, so the car in the loop is a car on the lot.

A Saturday morning with GIF Ads

It is 9:40 on a Saturday. A customer asked about a Kia K4 on Thursday, got the rep's first text and a call, and has gone quiet. The rep opens the Inventory page, clicks the K4, and presses Make a GIF in its photo viewer. GIF Ads opens with the unit loaded and the text size picked. He leaves the motion on Photo Tour, which cuts cleanly between the car's photos, and the GIF is ready while he is still looking over the preview.

He presses Text it to a lead. The sheet that opens lists the customers who asked about a Kia K4 first, each marked Asked about a Kia K4, then his recent conversations, and he can search by name, by email or by four or more digits of a number. He picks Dana. The CRM composer opens on her thread with the GIF attached and a short note written in: Hi Dana, take a look at this Kia K4. Want to come see it in person? He makes it his own, adds that the car is on the front line until noon, and presses Send Text. The bubble shows delivered. At 10:15 Dana replies and asks whether it will still be there Sunday.

That afternoon the sales manager builds a Lineup GIF of five lease offers for a customer coming off a lease. He picks the email size, because five offers and their terms want the room, and uses Email it to a lead the same way. Two GIFs, two customers, two sends a person pressed.

Motions, sizes and what fits in a text

Motion is where GIF Ads earns its name. Photo Tour cuts between the unit's photos at a Lively or Relaxed pace and holds the words still. Build It takes the words off for a beat and brings them back in reading order, the price first. Below MSRP gives a new unit's struck MSRP and its price their moment, and Lineup GIFs get a spotlight motion of their own. Leave the choice to GIF Ads and it picks the motion by rule for the ad in front of it.

Size is the other half. A picture text has a limit, so the text size keeps every GIF under 600 KB, and the email size allows up to 1 MB with more room for detail. When a motion comes out too big for a text, GIF Ads moves to the next motion that fits and says why under the preview. When nothing fits, it says Too big to send in a text and offers Make it for email. The fine print stays at a readable size in both, never moves, and the prices never count up or spin.

Every GIF starts and ends on the still ad, so an inbox that shows only the first frame still shows the whole ad with its terms. Finished GIFs save to My GIFs. Save to File Library puts a copy where any composer's paperclip can reach it, and Download GIF keeps a file for anything else.

Where GIF Ads lives in the CRM and on the phone

Design Studio opens from the dock at the bottom of LeadLocate CRM on the desktop, and GIF Ads is the second tool on its rail. You can also start from the Inventory page, where Make a GIF sits in every vehicle's photo viewer beside Make an Ad and Make a Video. Coming over from Image Ads brings the work with you: the source, the words, the style, your layout moves, the photo framing and the logo. GIF Ads keeps its own size, motion and saved copy, so the still ad and the GIF never overwrite each other.

The send buttons hand the GIF to the composers the rep already uses, the text box and the email composer in the CRM, so the message lands on the customer's thread and on the communications timeline like any other. From there the conversation follows the rep onto the lot. The same thread, the reply and the delivery status are in the SMS inbox of the LeadLocate app, and a GIF saved to the File Library can be attached from the app's paperclip for the next customer who asks about that car.

What animated car ads cost elsewhere, and what this replaces

Stores that try moving ads usually hit three dead ends. A GIF maker website starts from a blank frame, needs the price typed in, adds its own watermark or charges to remove it, and exports a file too big for a picture text, which then arrives blurry or not at all. A designer can make a beautiful one, billed by the piece, a day later, for one car. And a video sent by text arrives as a link the customer has to choose to open.

GIF Ads replaces all three with a tool that starts from the unit on the lot, sizes the file for the place it is going, and hands it to the rep's own thread. That changes who makes GIF ads for car dealers. It stops being a marketing project for the weekend special and becomes something a salesperson does for one customer at 9:40 on a Saturday, in about the time it takes to write the text.

GIF Ads is part of Design Studio, which comes with the LeadLocate platform subscription, and the text that carries a GIF is an ordinary message from the store's number. A LeadLocate bill is made of the plan subscription, users beyond the login each plan starts with as an add-on, and usage credits for metered work like bulk texting, validation and voicemail drop deliveries. The pricing page has the plans.

The compliance angle: the rep sends, the record stays

Nothing in GIF Ads sends on its own. Text it to a lead and Email it to a lead open the composer with the GIF attached and a note in an empty box; the customer gets nothing until the rep reads it, changes what he wants and presses Send Text or Send Email. The buttons appear only for users who already have texting or email access in the CRM, so the studio always follows the store's own permissions.

The customer list in the send sheet does the checking a busy rep skips. A number on the store's DNC Blacklist shows greyed out with On your DNC Blacklist beside it, and a customer with no mobile number or no email address on file is greyed with that reason. Every send that does go out comes from the store, is logged on the customer's record, and shows a delivery status on the bubble.

The ad itself carries the same protections as an image ad. OEM offer terms come in locked, the fine print never moves and stays readable at both sizes, ended offers hold, and the note that goes with the GIF never states a price, because the price belongs on the ad beside its terms.

How to start using GIF Ads

There is nothing to switch on for a user who has Design Studio. Open it from the dock and choose GIF Ads, or press Make a GIF on any vehicle on the Inventory page. Pick Single or Lineup and a source: a unit, an OEM offer or a store special. Choose the text size or the email size, pick a motion or let GIF Ads pick one, and press Play to watch the loop. Then press Text it to a lead, or Save to File Library for later.

A good first week: each salesperson makes a GIF of the three units he is working hardest and keeps them in the File Library for the customers who go quiet, and the manager makes one Lineup GIF of the month's offers for email. Jax, the bilingual assistant on the dock, answers how to questions about Design Studio's screens, and our team walks your store through it in training. A motion built around your store's own brand is available on request, and our team puts it in production for your dealership.

What to pair GIF Ads with

GIF Ads is the moving member of Design Studio's ad family. Image Ads makes the still version for social posts and print, from the same source and the same layout. Social feeds favor video over GIFs, which is why the social side of motion is Video Reels, MP4 reels from the same inventory. The Business Kit makes the cards and vCards that carry the rep's number.

In the composer, send vehicles by text attaches a unit's photos and price when a quick picture is the right answer, and the GIF is there when the customer needs a reason to look again. If the difference between a picture text and a plain text is new to your team, what is MMS explains it in one page. The all features page lists everything else in the platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the GIF play on the customer's phone?

It arrives as a picture message in the customer's normal text thread and loops there on modern smartphones. The first frame is the complete still ad, so a phone or an inbox that shows a single frame still shows the whole ad with its terms.

How big can a GIF be for a text or an email?

The text size keeps every GIF under 600 KB and the email size under 1 MB. If a motion comes out too big for a text, GIF Ads picks the next one that fits, or offers Make it for email.

Does Text it to a lead send the GIF automatically?

No. It opens the CRM composer on the customer's thread with the GIF attached and a short note. The rep edits the note and presses Send Text; nothing goes out until a person sends it.

Can a GIF show more than one vehicle?

Yes. Switch to Lineup and build a GIF of two to sixteen vehicles, offers or specials, with its own spotlight motion. A lineup with several offers usually belongs in the email size, where the terms have room.

Where are my GIFs saved?

In My GIFs inside GIF Ads, and in the File Library when you press Save to File Library, where any composer's paperclip can attach it, including the one in the LeadLocate app. Download GIF keeps a copy on your computer.

Can I post a GIF ad to Facebook or Instagram?

GIFs are made for the text thread and the inbox. For social feeds, make a reel in Video Reels or a still in Image Ads from the same unit; both carry the same offer terms and the same logo.
