Connect TikTok Ads to Your Dealership CRM
A genuine automotive product line, Instant Forms that capture on platform, and exactly where the connection stands.
This platform is registered in the LeadLocate ad gateway with its adapter scoped and its wire-up written, and it is not built yet. The adapter carries a real TikTok Business authorization URL and credential-aware readiness gates; the six lifecycle methods fall through to a refusal that names the network. The directory explains every status and its test.
What TikTok advertising actually is, in dealership terms
TikTok built a real automotive vertical rather than bolting a vehicle catalog onto a generic product. That distinction matters when a store is deciding whether the platform is a serious channel or a place to post service-bay clips.
There are two automotive products. Automotive Ads for Inventory serve VIN level units out of an Auto Inventory catalog, the same job Meta's inventory ads and Google's vehicle listings do. Automotive Ads for Models work the upper funnel, aimed at a shopper who knows they want a midsize SUV but has not picked a unit or a store. That second product is unusual; most platforms make you choose between broad reach and specific inventory.
Alongside those, Instant Forms capture an opt-in inside the app with the shopper's details prefilled, and the submissions are retrievable by API. That is the same mechanic that makes social lead forms the cheapest opt-in in paid media, and it is the piece any CRM integration cares about most.
Why a dealership would spend money here
The case is reach and cost among buyers other channels reach expensively. TikTok delivers volume against first-time buyers, younger households and the service-to-sales audience at costs well under search. For a store whose problem is top-of-funnel volume rather than closing ratio, that is the right shape of channel.
The upper funnel product is the more interesting half. Most dealership advertising assumes the shopper has already decided what they want, which is why so much of it competes on price for the same in-market audience. Reaching someone before that decision is cheaper and less contested, and it is a category of spend most independent stores never touch.
The honest objections are two. Creative is the whole game here in a way it is not on search, and a store that runs a repurposed television spot will get nothing. And the audience skews young, which for a franchise store selling trucks to established buyers may simply be the wrong room. It is a genuine channel with a genuine mismatch risk, and any vendor who tells you it works for every rooftop is selling. The channel-level case is laid out on the TikTok Ads page.
Where TikTok Ads stands with LeadLocate today
Registered, not yet built. The published test for that status is that an adapter file exists in the ad gateway with a written wire-up checklist, committed and scoped. That is what exists.
The adapter holds a real authorization URL pointing at TikTok's Business authorization endpoint, and readiness gates that read the actual credential keys rather than returning a fixed answer. The token exchange, asset listing, campaign deployment, status changes, reporting and verification are not implemented, and each one returns a refusal that names TikTok. That is deliberate: a stray call from anywhere in the CRM fails loudly and readably rather than looking like an outage at the network.
Access class is PUBLIC. A developer application is self-serve and requires no approval queue, though the account must be bound to a Business Center. Of the three registered search and social platforms that are still unbuilt, this one has the fewest external dependencies, because unlike Google and Microsoft there is no developer token application waiting on somebody else's review.
What data would move, and in which direction
A design, not a description, since none of it runs.
| Direction | What would move |
|---|---|
| Out to TikTok | Campaign objective, ad group targeting, the geographic radius around the store, budget and flight dates, and creative assets |
| Back from TikTok | Instant Form submissions retrieved by API, spend, impressions, clicks and results, and the advertiser accounts a connected user holds |
| Stored on our side | An encrypted access token, which objects were created and by which credentials, and an append only event log |
| Not part of this work | An Auto Inventory catalog feed, server side conversion events, and any audience file |
The bottom row decides whether the inventory product is reachable at all, which the section further down states plainly rather than leaving implied.
How the ad gateway works underneath
TikTok is one implementation of a contract every network in this directory answers, not a bespoke piece of plumbing.
A single library inside the CRM defines what any advertising platform must do: hand us an authorization URL, exchange the code for a token, list the accounts you own, deploy a campaign, pause or resume it, return spend and results, and prove on demand that the connection still works. Seven operations, one adapter file per network. Adding a platform is a file and a block of credentials rather than a project, and removing one is deleting it. That is the mechanism behind being able to turn a vendor off, turn one on, or take on something that appeared last quarter, without a store changing any of its own process.
Tokens are encrypted before storage with AES-256-GCM. Every action lands in an append only audit log stamped in UTC, deliberately, because these tables are shared across dealerships and a timezone-relative timestamp is one nobody can reconcile afterwards. Campaign objects record the credentials that created them and re-resolve them later, so a disconnect does not strand the work. The one network where all of this is running rather than described is Meta.
Managed by us, or connected to your own account
Two ways to advertise through LeadLocate, and you choose. The webXintel Ads Network is the managed path: included, always on, built and run by our team from what you select in Leads Manager, arriving as one line rather than a stack of platform invoices. It runs today and is not waiting on this adapter.
The second is your own account, where campaigns route through the advertiser account your store already holds, on your billing and in your name, with your history intact. Disconnect whenever you like and delivery falls back to the managed path automatically. For TikTok that path is the subject of this page and the half that is unfinished.
One limit that holds across the gateway: pushing, pausing and reading numbers from a network is done by our team today rather than from your dashboard. It is a deliberate constraint while the connection layer is young, and it is on the list to open up.
What building this would take, and what you would see
The checklist is ordered. Create a developer application and record the credentials. Bind the advertiser account to a Business Center. Fill the TikTok block in the credential file and enable it. Implement the token exchange, then asset listing, campaign deployment, status changes, reporting and verification against the Business API.
The absence of a developer token review is what makes this platform cheaper to finish than the two search platforms. There is no external approval sitting in the middle of the sequence, so the work is entirely ours to schedule.
Once live, expect readable data inside about a day of a campaign starting, because delivery on this platform is fast and unforgiving rather than gradual. As everywhere in this directory, that describes how quickly the channel produces information and says nothing about lead counts or closing rates, which nobody can honestly promise.
What we will not claim about TikTok Ads
We do not emit an Auto Inventory catalog. Automotive Ads for Inventory render VIN level units from a catalog feed, and no code in our stack generates one for any advertising platform. Inventory Link ingests a dealership's feed and merchandises the units on its own properties, which is a different job entirely. Finishing this adapter would not close that gap, so the inventory half of TikTok's automotive line is not something we deliver.
We do not run a server side conversions API, and we do not install or manage pixels.
We do not upload audience files built from a dealership's customer list.
No campaign has ever been deployed to TikTok from the CRM, because the code that would do it is unwritten. Any description of this integration as live describes an intention rather than a product.
Saying this on the page rather than in a demo is the point of the whole directory. A dealership finds out either way.
If you want TikTok Ads connected
Ask with your store named. Requests are recorded against the platform and counted, and that tally is the input to build order rather than a metric for a slide.
Worth saying in the request: whether you want the model-level upper funnel product or the inventory product, because only one of them is reachable without the feed work described above. That single sentence changes what a completed adapter would actually give you, and it is the kind of thing that turns a request into a scheduled piece of work.
Until then the managed path runs and does not depend on any of this. Platform pricing is on the pricing page and does not change based on which networks you turn on.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does LeadLocate integrate with TikTok Ads today?
No. TikTok is registered in the ad gateway, meaning an adapter file exists with a real authorization URL and a written wire-up checklist, and it is not built. Every lifecycle call returns a refusal naming the network.
Can I use my own TikTok advertiser account?
Not yet through the CRM. That self connect path is the unfinished half of this integration. The managed path runs today and does not depend on it.
What happens if I request TikTok Ads?
It is recorded against TikTok and counted, and the count decides build order. Say which of the two automotive products you actually want, because only the model-level one is reachable without inventory feed work we have not done.
Can you run VIN level inventory ads on TikTok?
No. Those render from an Auto Inventory catalog and we do not generate a catalog for any advertising platform. That gap sits outside the adapter and finishing the adapter would not close it.
Is TikTok worth it for a franchise truck store?
Possibly not, and it is fair to say so. The audience skews young, and a store selling full-size trucks to established buyers may find the room is wrong. It is strongest for first-time buyers, service-to-sales and upper funnel reach.
Why is this one cheaper to build than Google or Microsoft?
No developer token review. A TikTok developer application is self-serve, so nothing in the sequence waits on an external approval, and the whole remaining effort is ours to schedule.
