Advertising Integrations

Run Yelp Ads from Your Dealership CRM

The channel that pays for itself in the service lane long before it does anything on the sales floor.

LeadLocate does not connect to this platform today, and the request queue is what decides when it gets built. No adapter file exists in the ad gateway for Yelp, and credentials require an application the vendor reviews before issuing them. The directory sets out the test behind every status word, including the eighty that say we have not started.

What Yelp advertising actually is, in dealership terms

Yelp is a local business directory that sells advertising against category and location searches. Somebody types a service and a place, gets a ranked list of businesses with star ratings attached, and the paid placements sit inside that list. It is closer to a local search product than to a social platform, and the automotive categories on it are busy.

The important detail for a dealership is which side of the building it works for. Very few people open Yelp to shop for a vehicle. A great many open it to find somebody to fix one, diagnose a noise, do the brakes, or replace a windshield, and those searches carry an urgency that vehicle browsing does not. The paid units serve into automotive services results, and the Request a Quote flow lets a searcher describe a job and collect responses from several businesses at once.

That makes Yelp a fixed operations channel that occasionally produces a sale, rather than a sales channel that occasionally produces service work. Service customers are the cheapest source of future vehicle sales any store has, which is why a page about a review site belongs in a directory about dealership advertising at all.

Why a dealership would spend money here

The case is intent at the moment of need. A person searching for a transmission specialist within a few miles of your service drive is not comparison shopping a brand, they have a problem today, and the paid slot in that list is worth more than an impression anywhere else in this catalogue. Fixed operations is also where a store's margin quietly lives, and a service customer acquired now is a trade in conversation in a couple of years.

The honest objection is that Yelp amplifies your rating, in both directions. Paid placement puts a store's star average in front of more people, so a service department sitting on a poor score is buying distribution for its own bad reviews. Advertising cannot outrun the reputation it is advertising, and on this platform the two are printed on the same line. Fix the score before buying the placement, or expect to pay for clicks that bounce off a two star average.

The second objection is the one every local business raises. Yelp decides which reviews are shown and which are held back by its own software, and that decision is not visible to the business being reviewed. Whatever you make of it, it means the asset your advertising leans on is not under your control. Budget accordingly, and do not build a quarter on it.

The third is commercial. This is a heavily sold channel, and the pitch a store receives by phone is not the same thing as the returns a store measures. Set a cost per booked repair order before the first call, and treat everything else as noise.

Where Yelp Ads stands with LeadLocate today

Available on request. The published test for that status is that the work is not started and demand decides the order, and this page does not stretch it. No adapter file exists in the ad gateway for Yelp, no credential block, no authorization URL and no wire up checklist.

Access class is PARTNER, which is the vendor's gate rather than ours. Credentials require an application that Yelp reviews before issuing them, and programmatic access to advertising and to business messaging has historically been the part the vendor keeps closest. That review is not a step we can schedule, argue with or accelerate by wanting it more.

So the sequence has two halves and only one of them is ours. We would need to schedule the engineering, and the vendor would need to approve a credential. The first is decided by the request tally on this page. The second is decided by somebody at a company we do not work for. A page that offered a date would be inventing the second half of that sentence, which is exactly the habit this directory exists to break.

What data would move, and in which direction

Stated as a design, because none of it exists.

DirectionWhat would move
Out to YelpCampaign budget and flight dates, the categories and service areas around the store, and the copy and photos attached to a paid placement
Back from YelpSpend, impressions, clicks and quote request counts, plus the business locations a credential is entitled to reach
Stored on our sideAn encrypted credential, a record of which objects were created and by which credentials, and an append only event log
Never movesYour customer list, your inventory feed, and any hashed audience file built from either

Read the second row for what is missing. A quote request on this platform is a conversation inside the vendor's own messaging product, not a form post, and nothing in that row promises it lands in your follow up queue.

How the ad gateway works underneath

A page about an unbuilt platform can be specific because networks are not added here as one off projects. Yelp is a multi location product, and the account listing operation in our contract exists precisely so a group with several rooftops picks which location a campaign belongs to rather than guessing.

One provider agnostic library inside the CRM defines what any advertising platform must be able to do: hand us an authorization URL, exchange the code for a token, list the accounts a credential can reach, deploy a campaign, pause or resume it, return spend and results, and prove on demand that the connection still works. Seven operations, one adapter file per network, answered the same way by all of them.

Twenty networks are registered against that contract and one is implemented. The nineteen that are not return a refusal naming themselves, so a stray call anywhere in the CRM fails loudly and readably instead of resembling an outage at the vendor. Yelp is not among the twenty. That is a smaller claim than registered and it is the accurate one, and it is the sort of distinction every entry in this directory is required to draw.

Beneath the adapters is infrastructure that already exists and would not be rebuilt. Credentials are encrypted before storage with AES-256-GCM. Every action against a network is written to an append only audit log carrying the company, the network, the user and the detail, stamped in UTC on purpose, because those tables are shared across dealerships and a timezone relative timestamp is one nobody can reconcile later. Campaign objects record which credentials created them and re resolve those credentials afterwards, so disconnecting an account does not strand the work built under it.

Managed by us, or connected to your own account

Two routes, and the store picks. The first is the webXintel Ads Network: included, built and operated by our team from the selections you make in Leads Manager, and it arrives as one line rather than a stack of platform invoices. That path is live and this page does not gate it.

The second is your own account. Where a network is built, you connect the account your store already holds, campaigns route through it, and the billing, the naming and the spend history remain yours. Disconnect and delivery falls back to the managed path.

Neither route reaches Yelp today. It is worth saying plainly that on this platform a store does not need us in order to advertise. Yelp will happily sell you a placement over the phone this week, and many dealerships already have an account and a representative. What a connection would add is the spend and the quote request volume landing next to every other channel in one screen, so the service department can be compared with the sales channels honestly instead of by anecdote.

The limit that applies across the whole gateway, stated on every page here: pushing, pausing and reading numbers from a network is done by our team, not from your dashboard. That is a deliberate constraint while the connection layer is young, and it is on the list to open up.

What building this would take, and when you could measure it

Two tracks. The vendor track is an application and a review before any credential exists, on somebody else's calendar. Our track is an adapter file against the seven operation contract, a credential block, and each operation wired and checked against a live account. Ours is predictable. Theirs is not on our calendar and we will not pretend otherwise.

The piece that would need real thought is the quote request. On this platform an enquiry is a message thread inside the vendor's product rather than a form submission, so getting it into a follow up queue is a different job from reading a form, and it is the job that would decide whether the integration is worth having.

On measurement, this channel reads faster than most in the directory because service demand is immediate. A store with a decent rating and a busy category usually sees quote activity inside days. Decide in advance what a booked repair order is allowed to cost, and judge the test on that number rather than on click volume. That is a statement about how quickly this channel produces information, not a promise about how many jobs you will book or what they will bill. No honest vendor gives you that.

What we will not claim about Yelp Ads

The gaps below are the ones that matter on this platform specifically.

We do not retrieve leads or messages from this platform. Lead form retrieval is implemented for exactly one network and this is not it, and a quote request here is a message thread rather than a form in any case. Nothing arrives in your CRM from Yelp because of anything we operate.

We do not manage your reviews, your listing or your responses. That is the asset this channel leans on hardest and it is not a thing we touch. If a page anywhere implies a vendor can improve a star average, treat it the way you would treat any other promise about something you do not control.

We do not install or manage a tracking pixel, and we do not run a server side conversions endpoint or an offline conversion upload. None of that exists in our stack.

We do not upload a hashed audience or a customer list to this or any advertising platform.

We do not emit a vehicle catalog. No unit level feed is generated for any network.

No campaign has ever been deployed to Yelp from the CRM, because there is no code that could do it.

If you want Yelp Ads on your store

Ask, with your store attached, and include your current rating and review count, because on this platform those two numbers decide whether advertising is worth buying at all. Requests are recorded against the platform they name, and the tally is what decides build order, since a request from a store ready to spend beats any internal roadmap discussion.

You will hear back from a person with a range or a reason. On this one, expect a question about the service department before anything else. If the honest answer is that the score needs work first, that is what you will be told, and it will save you more than the integration would have.

The managed path runs today and does not wait on any of this. Pricing for the platform is on the pricing page and does not change based on which networks you turn on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does LeadLocate integrate with Yelp Ads today?

No. The status is available on request, whose published test is that the work is not started and demand decides the order. There is no adapter file, credential block or wire up checklist for Yelp in the ad gateway.

Can I use my own Yelp advertising account?

Not through the CRM, because nothing exists to reach it. Many stores already hold an account and a vendor representative, and that arrangement is untouched by anything here. An integration would put the spend and the quote volume beside your other channels rather than in a separate login.

What happens if I request Yelp Ads?

It is recorded against Yelp specifically and counted, and the tally is the input to build order. A person replies with a range or a reason, and the reason will note that credentials here need an application the vendor reviews, which is a step outside our control.

Is Yelp a sales channel or a service channel for a dealership?

Overwhelmingly a service channel. People arrive with a problem to fix rather than a vehicle to buy. The sales value is indirect and slower: a service customer today is a trade in conversation later, which is a real return but not one you can read in the first month.

Does my star rating change what advertising does here?

More than on any other platform in this directory. Paid placement shows your average alongside the ad, so a weak score means you are buying wider distribution for your own worst reviews. That is worth fixing before it is worth funding.

Would quote requests land in my follow up queue?

Not today, and even with a connection it would not be automatic in the way a form post is. Enquiries here are message threads inside the vendor's product, which is a harder retrieval problem than a form, and we will not describe it as solved before it is.
