PropellerAds Integration for Car Dealers
A very cheap, very fast click channel with real brand safety tradeoffs, and where our ad gateway stands with it.
LeadLocate does not connect to this platform today, and the request queue is what decides when it gets built. No PropellerAds adapter exists in the ad gateway. Access is self serve, so the only gate here is our engineering time. Read the brand safety section before you request it, and see the directory for what each status is tested against.
What PropellerAds actually is, in dealership terms
PropellerAds is a self serve advertising network built on push notifications, popunders, in-page push and interstitials. Its supply is the long tail of the open web: sites that monetize with formats the premium publishers will not run, reaching people who once accepted a notification prompt and largely forgot they did. It has a documented advertiser API, token based authentication and deposit minimums low enough that a store could test it out of petty cash.
What it sells is volume and speed. A campaign approved in the morning can deliver a flood of clicks to a landing page by the afternoon, at a cost per click that makes automotive search look like a luxury good. Nothing else in this directory turns on that fast or that cheaply.
The formats are also the least subtle in advertising. A push notification arrives on a phone or desktop looking like a message rather than an ad, and a popunder appears in a window the person did not open. Both work by interruption, and the honest way to describe them is exactly that.
Why a dealership would spend money here, and the caveat that comes first
Start with the caveat, because it belongs at the top rather than in a footnote. This is a click volume channel, not a lead quality channel. The inventory is long tail by construction, which means your store name can appear beside content you would never choose, and a share of the traffic will be accidental, automated, or in a country you do not sell cars in. Strict placement filtering, tight geographic settings and a person watching the account daily are not refinements here. They are the price of entry, and a dealership unwilling to pay it in labour should not buy this traffic at all.
With that said, there is a real use. A tent sale, a weekend event, a liquidation, anything with a date on it and a need for raw awareness in a defined radius, can be pushed in front of an enormous number of people for very little money in a very short time. Judged on cost per click and reach, PropellerAds wins against every premium channel in this directory. Judged on what happens after the click, it usually loses to all of them.
So the discipline is to decide in advance which metric you are buying, and to never quietly move the goalposts afterwards. A store that buys clicks and then complains about lead quality has spent the money against the wrong scoreboard. Our page on what to expect from car sales leads makes that argument in general terms and every word applies here.
Where PropellerAds stands with LeadLocate today
Available on request, and the test for that status is simply that work has not started. There is no adapter file for this platform in the ad gateway, no credential block, no authorization URL and no wire-up checklist.
Access class is PUBLIC, which is the vendor's gate rather than ours, and here it is genuinely open: anyone can register for advertiser API credentials without an approval queue, authentication is token based, and the deposit floor is low. That removes the usual excuse. On a PARTNER platform we can honestly say part of the delay belongs to somebody else. On this one the only variable is our engineering time and where this network sits in the queue against the rest.
Which is worth saying plainly: an easy integration is not automatically a valuable one, and demand decides the order rather than difficulty. The directory index lists every platform with the same test applied, and most of them read like this page.
What data would move, and in which direction
Design, not description, because none of it runs today.
| Direction | What would move |
|---|---|
| Out to PropellerAds | Campaign structure and format selection, country and region targeting, budget, bid and pacing, creative variants, and zone level blocklists |
| Back from PropellerAds | Spend, impressions, clicks and delivery by zone, plus the advertiser account a connected token belongs to |
| Stored on our side | An encrypted API token, a record of which objects were created and by which credentials, and an append only event log stamped in UTC |
| Never moves | Your customer list, your inventory feed, and any hashed audience file |
Zone level reporting is the row that decides whether this channel can be run responsibly. Without it there is no way to build the blocklist that makes the rest of it defensible.
How the ad gateway works underneath
Nothing about this platform is exotic from our side, which is the point of building a gateway rather than a series of one off connections.
One provider agnostic library inside LeadLocate defines what any advertising platform must be able to do: hand us an authorization URL, exchange the code for a token, list the accounts you own, deploy a campaign, pause or resume it, return spend and results, and prove on demand that the connection still works. Seven operations, one adapter file per network. Token authentication of the kind this platform uses shortens the first two operations rather than changing the contract.
The shared parts are already written. Credentials are encrypted before storage with AES-256-GCM. Every action against any network is written to an append only audit log carrying the company, the network, the user and the detail, stamped in UTC because these tables are shared across dealerships and a local timestamp is one nobody can reconcile later. Campaign objects record the credentials that created them and re-resolve those credentials afterwards, so a disconnected account does not strand the campaigns built under it.
Twenty networks are registered against that contract and one is implemented. The remaining adapters answer every call with a refusal naming the network, so a stray call fails readably instead of looking like an outage.
Managed by us, or connected to your own account
Two ways to advertise through LeadLocate. The first is the webXintel Ads Network: included, with our team building campaigns from the selections you make in Leads Manager, arriving as a single line rather than a stack of platform invoices. It is available now and independent of anything on this page.
The second is your own advertiser account, which is how a store keeps its billing, its name and its spend history on the platform side. Where an adapter exists you authorize once and campaigns route through your account. PropellerAds has no adapter, so a store buying this traffic today keeps buying it wherever it does now.
One constraint stated rather than discovered: pushing, pausing and reading spend from a network is done by our team and not from your dashboard. That is deliberate while the connection layer is young. On a channel that can spend fast and deliver faster, a human confirmation step before anything goes live is arguably a feature rather than a limitation.
What building this would take, and when you could measure it
Short list, because self serve access removes the slow part. Register the advertiser account and generate an API token. Add the credential block and write the adapter against the seven operations. Implement campaign creation, zone level reporting and blocklist management, which is the only part with any real design work in it. Then verification.
There is no vendor application to wait on, so the estimate would be honest engineering time rather than a guess about somebody else's review queue. What decides whether that time gets spent is the request tally, not the ease of the build.
Measurement is the fastest in this directory and the least meaningful. Clicks appear within hours, sometimes within minutes, and a landing page can go from quiet to swamped over a lunch break. That speed tells you the channel is delivering, and nothing else. Anything about quality takes days and a landing page instrumented well enough to separate a real visit from a reflex. Never read a same day click count as evidence of anything except delivery, and never let a vendor read it to you that way either.
What we will not claim about PropellerAds
The gaps, named, including the ones specific to a channel like this.
We do not emit a vehicle catalog to any advertising platform. No feed of your inventory goes anywhere near an ad network from our stack. Inventory Link merchandises your units on properties you own, which is a different job entirely.
We do not install or manage pixels and we operate no server side conversions API. On a cheap traffic channel the conversion signal is the only thing standing between a campaign and optimization toward worthless clicks, and we do not supply it. No offline conversion upload either.
We export no hashed audience, so there is no customer list match and no suppression file from us.
There is no on platform lead form to retrieve here, so every lead would arrive through a page you control, and our form retrieval exists for one network only. We do not automate brand safety. Blocklists on this kind of supply are maintained by a person reading zone reports, and describing that as automated filtering would be exactly the sort of claim this directory exists to avoid. No campaign has ever been deployed from the CRM to this network.
If you want PropellerAds on your store
Ask, with the store and the event attached. Requests are recorded against the platform they name and counted, and the tally decides build order, because a dealership ready to spend on a channel is a better signal than an internal opinion about which network deserves attention.
Expect the reply to include a question back: what does the click have to do once it lands. If the answer is fill in a form on a page nobody has tested, the honest recommendation will be to fix the page first, because cheap traffic aimed at a weak page is the fastest way to conclude that a channel does not work when the channel was never the problem. Compare the economics against geofencing around your trade area, which targets far fewer people far more precisely.
Platform pricing is on the pricing page and does not change with the networks you enable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does LeadLocate integrate with PropellerAds today?
No. It is available on request, which means work has not started: no adapter file, no credential block, no checklist. Access on the vendor side is open, so the only thing between this page and a build is queue position.
Can I use my own PropellerAds advertiser account?
Not through the CRM, because there is nothing to authorize against yet. Registering an advertiser account directly is self serve and takes minutes, and anything you run that way is entirely outside our stack.
What happens if I request PropellerAds?
It is logged against this network by name and counted, and the count feeds build order. Since there is no vendor application to clear, the answer you get back is about scheduling rather than about somebody else's review.
Is this traffic safe for a dealership brand?
Only with work. The supply is long tail, the formats interrupt, and adjacency risk is real. Strict placement filtering, tight geography and daily attention are the cost of running it, and a store unwilling to spend that attention should not buy the traffic.
Will this produce leads?
It produces clicks, cheaply and quickly. Whether those become leads depends almost entirely on the page they land on and how early the shopper is. Buy it as awareness and click volume, and judge it on that scoreboard only.
How fast would a campaign here deliver?
Within hours, which is faster than anything else in this directory. That speed proves delivery and nothing more, and reading a same day click count as proof of quality is the classic mistake on this kind of network.
Queue PropellerAds with your event and your radius
Requests are counted against the platform they name. Tell us the date you are driving traffic toward and the page it lands on, and you will get a straight answer about whether this is the right channel for it.
