How to Customize an Apply Link in SecureWebX
One application system can behave like several. Add the sections, fields, uploads and disclosures a particular path needs, and leave the rest of your links clean.
Step by Step
Pick the link you are changing
Open Apply links in the console and find the one you want. Customizations belong to a single link, so the website link keeps the short, clean application while the special finance link asks for more. If the link you need does not exist yet, make it first with Generate apply link, then come back.
Open the customizer
Open Customize application on that link. You are looking at the standard five step application, personal, residence, employment, income and review, with the places you can add to it. Nothing you do here changes the other links, and nothing changes for applications that were already submitted.
Add a section where it belongs
A section is a group of your own fields attached to one step of the application. Give it a title the customer will understand, such as trade-in details or business information, and put it on the step where a customer would expect to answer it. Asking about a trade in the middle of employment history is how people abandon a form.
Add the fields you actually need
Inside a section, add fields one at a time. A field can be a plain text box, a dropdown with the options you type in, or a document upload for a file you need on this path. Each field takes a short note that shows under it to guide the applicant, and that note is worth writing, because it is the difference between a legible answer and a shrug.
Add the disclosures this link has to carry
Disclosures added to a link appear on that link's application, and you can require the customer to acknowledge one before they continue. Your state specific disclosures live in the company compliance settings and get pulled onto the links that need them, so you write each one once and reuse it.
Walk it like a customer
Click Open apply page in new tab and complete the application yourself on a phone, not just on the desktop. Count the taps. If a new section added six fields to a form a shopper is filling in at a stoplight, decide whether you need all six or whether two of them can be asked in the finance office.
Send it, and retire it when the job is over
Use Copy link to put the URL on your clipboard and send it the way you always send it. When a campaign or a season ends, Toggle apply link active state retires the link without touching a single application that came through it.
Before you start
You need the SecureWebX console, which opens from the SecureWebX button on the CRM dock with the login you already use, and at least one apply link. If you have not made one, how to create an apply link takes about a minute. Customizing is done by the store itself in the console, without a support ticket and without waiting on anybody.
Decide what this link is for before you open the customizer. A link for the website is trying to get a serious shopper through a form on the first try. A link for the special finance desk is trying to arrive with proof of income already attached so the manager can work the deal that afternoon. Those two goals want different applications, which is exactly why customization sits on the link instead of on the store. The apply links page covers the wider picture of what a link is and where it gets used.
What you should see
Inside the customizer, the five standard steps with your additions shown on the step you attached them to. Every addition is yours to edit, reorder or remove, and the standard application underneath stays complete whether you add anything or not: personal, residence, employment, income, review, with co-applicant support, an ITIN accepted in place of a Social Security number, a trade-in section, e-signature and consent capture against versioned terms.
Open the preview and you get the customer's view of exactly what you built, branded to your dealership. Submit a test application and it lands in the credit application inbox with your extra fields shown on the record and any uploaded documents attached to it. The inbox tells you which apply link each application came from, so you can see whether the link you customized is the one producing complete files.

What should I add, and what should I leave alone?
Add what you would otherwise have to chase by phone. Proof of income and proof of residence uploads on a special finance link save two days of back and forth. A trade section with a photo upload turns a maybe into an appraisal. A business information section on a commercial link stops a fleet deal from arriving as a personal application. A short event code field tells you which Saturday sale the business came from.
Leave the standard form alone on your website link. The application already asks for everything a lender expects, and every extra field on a public form costs you applicants who were only half decided when they started. A store that adds nine custom fields to its website link and then wonders why the inbox went quiet has answered its own question.
Write the helper note under any field a customer could answer three different ways. Upload your two most recent pay stubs gets pay stubs. A field labeled income proof with no note gets a photo of a bank card. The note takes ten seconds to write and saves the finance office a phone call on every file.
If it did not work
Your changes are not showing on the application. You are probably looking at a different link. Customizations belong to one link at a time, so open Apply links, confirm which one you edited, and preview that exact link with Open apply page in new tab.
The customer says the form is too long. Count your own additions. Move anything that is not needed to decide the deal into the finance office, and keep the public link to the standard five steps.
Customers are skipping the document upload. Put the upload on the step where they are already talking about that subject, give it a helper note that names the document, and say in your text message that the application will ask for it. Applications are savable step by step, so a customer who needs to go find a pay stub can come back to where they stopped.
The disclosure you added is not appearing. Disclosures are attached per link. Add it to this link, or add it in the company compliance settings so it carries across the links that need it, then preview again.
You want a field type the customizer does not list. It is available on request, and our team puts it in production for your dealership.

The disclosures side of this job has its own guide, and the wider picture of per store disclosures, privacy notices and terms is on compliance disclosures and privacy notices. What the customer walks through, screen by screen, is on the online credit application form. What happens after they submit is on the credit application inbox page.
The LeadLocate Help Center has the rest of the SecureWebX guides, from creating the link to reviewing what comes back. Keep one habit: whenever you change a link, walk it yourself on a phone before the first customer sees it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does customizing one apply link change the others?
No. Sections, fields, uploads and disclosures belong to the single link you edited. Every other link keeps the application it had, including the standard one on your website.
What kinds of custom fields can I add?
A plain text field, a dropdown with the options you type in, or a document upload. Each one takes a short note that shows under the field to guide the applicant.
Will my changes affect applications that were already submitted?
No. Submitted applications keep the exact form the customer filled in and signed, along with the version of the terms they agreed to.
Can a salesperson customize a link, or does it take a manager?
It is done in the console by whoever has the role for it. Most stores keep customizing with the finance office and let salespeople send the links.
