Car Sales Leads with Meta Ads

Lead forms, vehicle ads and retargeting across Facebook, Instagram, Threads and Messenger, planned around the zone your store sells in.

Meta Ads is the advertising system behind Facebook and Instagram, and the single largest source of car sales leads on the internet. A dealership on LeadLocate asks for it from the Advertising Networks page inside the CRM and our team sets it up, usually the same day, through the included webXintel Ads Network or under an account in the store's own name. Leads arrive in one inbox and can be pushed to an existing CRM by ADF.

What Meta Ads is, in dealership terms

Meta Ads is the buying system behind Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Messenger and WhatsApp, and for most dealerships it is the channel that already produces the largest share of their internet leads. One Ads Manager account places the same campaign across the feed, Stories and Reels on both big apps, and the two formats that matter most to a store are lead forms and inventory ads. A lead form opens inside the app, pre filled with the shopper's name, phone and email, so the person who tapped a truck event ad at a red light can send an inquiry in two taps without ever leaving Facebook. Inventory ads take a feed of the store's vehicles and show each shopper the units that match what they have been looking at, with price and photo, and click through to that unit.

Around those sit the ordinary tools: video and image ads by radius, retargeting of people who visited the store's site or engaged with its page, audiences built from the store's own customer list, and Marketplace placement. The scale is the reason it works for a local business. In almost any American county, a majority of adults open one of these apps every day, and the platform knows which of them are in the market for a vehicle.

Connecting your own Meta Ads account to the CRM has its own page: Connect Meta Ads to Your Dealership CRM. This page is about the channel and the leads.

Why a dealership would spend money on Meta Ads

A dealership spends on Meta because it is the cheapest reliable way to reach nearly every adult within twenty miles of the store, and because the lead form removes the step where a shopper has to leave the app, load a website and type. That combination is why cost per lead from Meta is usually the lowest a store sees. It also carries campaign types that fit specific jobs: a trade in event with a form asking what the shopper drives, a credit rebuilding campaign with pre screening questions, a used inventory campaign that shows each person the exact units in their price range.

The honest objection is lead quality, and it is real. A two tap form produces inquiries from people who were mildly curious and from people who are ready to buy, and the platform cannot tell them apart before the form is sent. The stores that make Meta pay are the ones that treat every form as a phone call to make in five minutes, ask a qualifying question in the form itself, and stop judging the channel by the first ten leads. A second objection is that results decay when the same audience sees the same creative for weeks, so the campaign needs fresh vehicles and fresh offers, which is exactly what a live inventory feed provides.

For the broader case for this kind of channel, Facebook Ads for Car Dealerships covers it without repeating what is here.

Who Meta Ads fits, and who it does not

Meta fits every rooftop, new and used, franchise and independent, and it is the first channel a store with no advertising history should turn on. It fits buy here pay here and credit rebuilding stores especially well because the pre screening questions in a lead form let the store ask about income and down payment before anyone dials. It fits brokers and solo salespeople too, since no inventory feed or DMS access is required to run a lead form campaign; a broker can advertise a category and a payment range and let the shopper describe the vehicle.

It fits less well as the only channel for a luxury store selling to a narrow audience, and it disappoints any store that cannot answer a lead within the hour, because the shopper who sent a form from a couch is usually still on the couch, and thirty minutes later they are not.

How LeadLocate runs Meta Ads for your store

The practical question is whose login the campaigns live under. With the webXintel Ads Network, which every plan includes, they live under ours: you choose the zone, the campaign type and the pre screening questions in Leads Manager, and our team does the building and the daily management. With your own Meta Ads account they live under yours. Request the connection from the Advertising Networks page in the CRM, our team completes the setup, usually the same day, and from then on the media is billed by Meta Ads to your dealership and the account history belongs to you. Agencies that already manage a Meta Ads account for the store can keep it; we work inside it. That single account reaches . The two paths are not exclusive, and moving between them is a request, not a project.

What a Meta Ads lead looks like when it reaches the CRM

A Meta lead typically arrives with a name, a mobile number, an email, the answers to whatever questions the form asked, and the vehicle if the ad was an inventory ad. Inventory sourced shoppers come in with the VIN attached; a lead form shopper from a general campaign describes what they want in the form. When the form runs on the LeadLocate side it lands in the CRM directly; when it runs under the dealership's own Meta account, the form delivery is set up at connection so the lead reaches the CRM the same way. Either way the source and the campaign travel with the record.

From that point the lead behaves like every other lead in LeadLocate. It is stamped with the channel and the campaign, it lands with the salesperson or the round robin you set in lead distribution, and the first touch can fire on its own, a text, an email or a task, before anyone opens it. Stores that keep working leads in a different CRM switch on Instant Push, and the lead is forwarded by ADF as it arrives; the price does not change for that. One thing worth saying on every channel page: the shopper decides what to submit. A person with a VIN picked out and a person with a payment in mind are both leads, and what to expect from car sales leads explains why that mix is normal.

One CRM for every channel you run

A dealership that runs six channels through six vendors gets six reports, six invoices and six opinions about where the leads came from. Running Meta Ads through LeadLocate means it is planned in Leads Manager beside the others, its leads arrive in the same inbox with the same distribution rules, its follow up runs through the same texting, calling and email tools, and its results show up in the same reporting modules. Add a channel and the work does not grow; the picture does. The full set of channels a store can ask for is on the advertising channels page, and it matches the list inside the CRM.

The tools behind that inbox are the ones a store already uses on its other leads: automated first contact by text or email, calls placed from the CRM with the recording transcribed onto the record, voicemail drop for the ones who do not answer, drip processes for the ones who are months away, appointments on the shared calendar, and desking when the shopper arrives. A lead from Meta Ads gets all of it, because the CRM does not care where a lead came from once it is in.

For agencies that manage Meta Ads for dealerships

Meta is the channel almost every local agency already runs for its dealership clients, so the agency angle is simple: keep the accounts, connect them, and give each store a CRM that actually works the leads the agency produces. The chronic complaint from dealers about Meta leads is that nobody called them; an agency whose campaigns feed a CRM with distribution rules, automatic first texts and visible follow up has an answer to that complaint that a spreadsheet of leads never had.

Agencies are how most stores buy Meta Ads, and LeadLocate treats the agency as part of the store's team. An agency user can manage the campaigns in Leads Manager, hold the platform accounts in its own name and connect them, pull the same reporting the dealership sees, and use the webXintel Ads Network as a lead source for clients that want results before they want a media plan. What the agency gains is the piece it typically lacks: the CRM, the distribution rules, the texting and calling, the follow up processes, all of it visible so the agency can show the store what happened after the click. Agencies that bring dealerships onto the platform can enroll in the referral program. See dealership-campaign-management-softwareL for how the agency side works.

Targeting the market you actually sell in

A dealership is a local business, so every channel LeadLocate runs is planned around a zone: a radius around the store, a set of counties, or a whole state for a group. The zone editor in Leads Manager is where that is drawn, and it applies to Meta Ads the same way it applies to search or social. Auto brokers and stores that ship nationally can widen the zone to the country; a Toyota store in one city has no reason to pay for shoppers in another, and does not. Groups give each rooftop its own zone so two stores in the same group never bid against each other for the same household. One rule worth knowing before you plan a financing campaign: campaigns that mention financing run under fair lending rules, which do not allow narrowing an audience by age, gender, income, marital status, household size, education, language or ZIP, and Leads Manager locks those controls. Vehicle and geography targeting is unaffected.

Getting started with Meta Ads through LeadLocate

Starting is a request, not a project. Inside the CRM, open Leads Manager, then Advertising Networks, find Meta Ads and click Request Connection; our team takes it from there, usually the same day. If you are not on LeadLocate yet, the platform is priced as a monthly subscription with no long term contract, and the plans on the pricing page include the webXintel Ads Network, so a store has leads coming in while Meta Ads is being set up. Media you buy through your own Meta Ads account is billed by Meta Ads to you. A store that already works leads in another CRM keeps doing so; the leads are pushed there by ADF at no change in price.

What happens after the request is worth knowing too. A person from our team confirms the zone, the campaign type and the pre screening questions with you, tells you plainly what Meta Ads does best for a store of your size and market, and sets a review date. Nothing about Meta Ads is a commitment beyond the media itself: if the reporting says it is not earning its budget after a fair trial, it is switched off from the same page it was switched on, and the CRM keeps every lead it produced.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should a dealership run Meta lead forms or send people to the website?

Run lead forms for volume and the website for intent. A form inside the app produces more inquiries at a lower cost; a click to a vehicle page produces fewer, better informed ones. Most stores run both, with the form campaign carrying one or two qualifying questions so the volume is worth calling.

Can Meta ads show my actual inventory?

Yes. Inventory ads take a feed of the store's live units and match each shopper to the vehicles they have been looking at. Inventory Link is the LeadLocate product that ingests a dealership's feed; ask about it in the request and our team will tell you what applies to your store. A feed is not required to run lead form campaigns.

Why do Meta leads seem lower quality than search leads?

Because the form is two taps and the shopper never had to type a vehicle into a search box, so it catches people earlier in the process. They are real, they are cheaper, and they need a fast call and a qualifying question. Judged on cost per sale over a quarter rather than the first week, most stores keep the channel.

Do I need my own Meta Ads account to run it through LeadLocate?

No. The webXintel Ads Network is included with every plan and needs no account of yours. If you want campaigns under an account your dealership owns, request the connection from the Advertising Networks page and our team sets it up, or connects the Meta Ads account you or your agency already hold.

Can Meta Ads leads go into the CRM we already use?

Yes. Turn on Instant Push in the CRM settings and every lead is forwarded to your existing CRM by ADF the moment it arrives, with its source attached. The subscription price is the same whether you work leads in LeadLocate or forward them.

What does LeadLocate charge for Meta Ads?

The platform is a monthly subscription, month to month with no long term contract; the plans are on the pricing page and each includes the webXintel Ads Network. Media you buy through your own Meta Ads account is billed by Meta Ads to you, not marked up by us. We do not tie the price to results, because no one can promise what a shopper will do.
