How to Design a Business Card in LeadLocate

Build a print ready card with your name, the store logo and your tracking number in Design Studio, one click from the dock.

Design Studio is the design tool on the dock of LeadLocate CRM. To design a business card, open Design Studio, start a project at card size, add your name, title, the store logo and the tracking number the CRM assigned you, pick a stock image or upload your own, and export a print ready file you take to any printer. Every user has it.

Step by Step

  1. Open Design Studio

Sign in to LeadLocate CRM on the desktop and click Design Studio on the dock at the bottom of the screen, between Referral Program and My Inventory. The studio opens with your projects and folders.

  2. Start a card project

Create a new project, give it a name such as your own name and Card, and set the size and orientation for a business card. Landscape is the usual choice. Keep the store's card layout in a shared folder so the next rep starts from it rather than from a blank canvas.

  3. Add your details

Use the text tool to add your name, your title and the dealership name. Add the tracking number the CRM assigned you, not a personal cell, so the calls and texts the card produces land in the store's system. Adjust the style, size and spacing until it reads cleanly at arm's length.

  4. Add the logo and an image

Upload the store logo file with Upload, or pick a vehicle or background from the stock media library for the back of the card. Rotate, flip, scale and position each element on the canvas.

  5. Export the print ready file

Save the project, then export the finished card. The file is produced at the size you set, which any printer accepts as is, from the office printer to a commercial shop.

  6. Keep the card on your profile

Ask a manager to open User Management, open your user and upload the exported card into the Business Card slot. That copy is the one Automated Templates attach to the automated email when the attachment is turned on.

Before you start

Every user in LeadLocate CRM has Design Studio on the dock and keeps their own projects and folders, so a salesperson can build their own card on day one. Roles set in User Management decide who builds store wide pieces; uploading the finished card to a user's profile is a manager task. Have the store logo file on hand, and know the tracking number the CRM assigned you, because that number is what belongs on the card.

Check with the office which printer the store uses and what size they expect. The studio exports at the size you set, so agree the size first and you will not redo the layout. If the store already has a saved card layout in a shared folder, open that rather than starting from nothing; the point of a saved layout is that every card in the building carries the same logo, the same colors and the store's number.

What you should see

Inside Design Studio your project appears on the canvas at card size, with your name, title, the dealership name, your tracking number and the logo in place, and the image you chose on the back if you built one. Saving keeps the project in your folder so it opens the same way next time and can be duplicated for the next new hire.

The export is a single print ready file at the size you set. Open it on your screen; it should look exactly like the canvas, with nothing cut off at the edges. Send it to the printer the store uses. Once a manager has uploaded the card into the Business Card slot on your user in User Management, send yourself a test lead and the automated email arrives with your card attached, provided the attachment is switched on for that feed on the Automated Templates page.

If it did not work

The printer says the file is the wrong size. The project was created at a different size than the printer expects. Open the project, check the size and orientation you set, correct them, reposition anything that moved and export again. Agreeing the size with the printer before you design saves this round trip.

The logo looks blurry or stretched. The uploaded file is too small or was scaled unevenly. Ask the office for the largest logo file the store has, upload it again with Upload, and scale it with the corner handles so the proportions stay put.

The card did not attach to the automated email. Two things have to be true: the exported card is uploaded to your user's Business Card slot, and the attachment switch is on for the feed on the Automated Templates page. Check both and send another test lead.

Related tasks

Build the referral card next in the same studio, with the link from the Referral Program on the back; set up a sheet with rows and columns to print many cards on one page. Turn on the card attachment on the Automated Templates page so every automated email arrives from a person. The NFC card and the vCard, built in the same studio, put your contact details on a customer's phone with a tap.

The Design Studio feature page covers every piece the studio makes. Every other walkthrough is in the help center, and the contact page reaches a person who will look at your card with you. Produced and shipped print pieces are available on request; our team puts that in production for your dealership.

Tips from the floor

Put the tracking number on the card, never a personal cell. When the salesperson leaves, the customers who call that number still reach the store, and every text that follows is logged and honors opt outs. Keep the front simple: name, title, store, number. Use the back for a vehicle or the referral link. Save one store layout and have every new hire duplicate it; the cards on the desk should all look like they came from the same dealership because they did.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a designer or a separate design tool?

No. Design Studio is on the dock of LeadLocate CRM for every user, with text tools, uploads, a stock media library and print ready export. You pay your printer for paper and ink and nothing else.

Does LeadLocate print the cards?

The studio exports a print ready file you take to any printer. Produced and shipped pieces are available on request, and our team puts that in production for your dealership.

Which phone number should go on the card?

The tracking number the CRM assigned you. Calls and texts to it land in the store's system with recording, logging and do not call controls in place, and the relationship stays with the dealership.

How does the card get attached to my automated emails?

A manager uploads the exported card into the Business Card slot on your user in User Management, and the attachment switch is turned on for the feed on the Automated Templates page.
