How to Add Your Credit Bureau Account to SecureWebX
Your bureau account belongs to your store. SecureWebX keeps its credentials encrypted, in the same secure console as your credit applications, and our team activates the connection for you.
Step by Step
Sign in as a user who manages settings
Sign in to SecureWebX with a user whose role can manage the store's settings, typically your SecureWebX admin. Other users see the card's status without the form.
Open the Credit bureau access card
Open Settings in the SecureWebX console and scroll to Credit bureau access. With no account on file, the card offers two paths side by side: one for a store that already has a bureau account, one for a store that needs one.
Enter your store's bureau account
Under the path for a store with an existing account, type the account number, the username, the API key and the password exactly as your bureau issued them, then save. The card confirms the credentials are stored encrypted and gives you a reference number.
Let our team activate the connection
Our team verifies the account with the bureau and activates the connection. The badge on the card shows where it stands, and it reads active once the account is live for your store. Keep the reference number handy if you want to ask about it.
No bureau account yet? Request a referral
Use the second path on the same card. Write a line about where you are, such as a new dealership or a store switching providers, and send the request. The follow up arrives in your SecureWebX Mailbox and our team walks you through the bureau's own setup. When the account is issued, paste its credentials into this card.
Name the bureau on adverse action notices
When a lender declines and you issue an adverse action notice, leave A credit report was used ticked when one was, then pick the bureau from Choose a bureau… under Credit bureau used (name and contact, if a report was used), or type it in Or type a different bureau's name and address. A custom address is saved for next time.
Before you start
You need a SecureWebX sign in whose role can manage settings, and your store's own credit bureau account: the account number, the username, the API key and the password the bureau issued to the dealership. The bureau relationship is the store's, and so are the account and its terms. SecureWebX is where that account is stored securely, alongside the credit applications, stipulations, adverse action notices and lender shares it belongs with.
If your store has no bureau account yet, you need nothing more than a sentence about where you are. The referral path on the same card starts the process, and our team walks you through it. Which users can reach settings is covered in how to manage SecureWebX users.
What you should see
After you save, the Credit bureau access card shows a status badge and a line confirming the credentials are saved and encrypted, with your reference number. The fields themselves stay empty from then on: saved credentials are never displayed again, to anyone. When our team has verified and activated the account, the badge turns green and reads active.
To change a credential later, open the same card, type only the value that changed and save. A field left blank keeps its saved value, so rotating a password never means retyping the account number. Every save is written to the SecureWebX audit log with who made it, and the same credit application security covers the account as covers every application: two factor authentication on every sign in, encryption at rest and a secrets vault.

Where the bureau shows up after setup
The account itself stays behind the card, and its name travels where the paperwork needs it. When a lender declines an application and the store sends an adverse action notice, the notice form asks whether a credit report was used and which bureau supplied it, with a picker of bureaus and a field for any other bureau's name and address. The notice goes to the applicant from the application record, and the bureau details sit in the file with it. The adverse action notice guide walks through that form in full.
Quick checks
Missing the form? Your role sees the card's status only. Ask a user who manages settings, or have your admin adjust your role.
Copy the credentials straight from your bureau. Paste rather than type, and check the account number against your bureau paperwork before you save.
Waiting on activation? Keep the reference number from the card handy; it ties any question you ask to your account.
Switching bureau providers? Use the referral path and tell us in the note; our team walks you through the change.
How do stores keep bureau access secure day to day?
The bureau account is one of the most valuable credentials a dealership holds, and SecureWebX gives the store everything it needs to keep it protected. A few habits keep it that way.
- Keep settings with a small group. Give the role that manages settings to the people who need it, usually the SecureWebX admin and the finance director. Everyone else sees the card's status, which is all a salesperson needs.
- Keep every user's phone number current. SecureWebX sends a text code on every sign in, so a password alone is never enough to reach the console. A current number means that code always reaches the right person.
- Rotate the password on your bureau's schedule. When the bureau issues a new password, type it into its field on the Credit bureau access card and save. The other fields keep their saved values, and the change is written to the audit log.
- Update the card when people move on. When someone who knew the bureau credentials leaves the store, change the password with the bureau and save the new one here the same day.
- Keep the paperwork together. Adverse action notices, state specific disclosures and the store's privacy notice all live in the same console, so every notice the store sends names the right bureau.
With the account saved, encrypted and active, the finance office works every application, stipulation and lender share in one place, and the bureau relationship stays exactly where it belongs: with the dealership.

Frequently Asked Questions
Whose credit bureau account is stored in SecureWebX?

What if my dealership does not have a bureau account yet?
Request a referral from the Credit bureau access card with a short note about where you are. Our team walks you through the bureau's setup, and once the account is issued you paste its credentials into the same card.
Can I see or edit the saved credentials later?
Saved credentials are never shown again. To change one, type the new value in its field and save; fields left blank keep their saved values.
Who can add the bureau account?
A SecureWebX user whose role can manage the store's settings. Other users see the card's status, and every save is recorded in the audit log.
