Embeddable Inventory Widget for Any Website

Your live inventory, rendered inside the website you already own, with a request sheet under every vehicle that lands in the LeadLocate CRM.

The embeddable inventory widget is an Inventory Link feature that renders a dealership's live inventory inside any website with one script tag. Each widget has its own key, pulls from the same decoded inventory the dealer portal holds, and gives shoppers a request sheet under every vehicle that lands in the LeadLocate CRM with the unit attached.

What the embeddable inventory widget does

The embeddable inventory widget renders your live inventory inside any web page that accepts a line of HTML, with a request sheet under every vehicle that delivers the shopper to your CRM with the unit attached. That is the whole feature in one sentence, and the reason it exists is that most dealerships already have a website they are not going to replace this quarter. The widget does not ask them to. It takes the inventory that Inventory Link already holds, decoded and photographed, and puts it wherever the store wants it seen.

Each widget has its own key. That key is what the script tag carries, so the same store can run one widget on the main dealership site, another on a salesperson's personal page, and a third on a landing page built for a sales event, each showing the inventory the way that page needs it. Because every widget reads from the one inventory store in the dealer portal, a price change or a sold unit shows up everywhere at once. Nobody updates three websites by hand on a Saturday afternoon.

The widget is part of the platform subscription rather than a separate product. If you are paying a web vendor a monthly fee for an inventory plugin, or a landing page tool for a hosted inventory block, this is the feature that lets that line item go.

How a dealership uses the widget on a normal day

Picture a Tuesday. The used car manager takes in two trades before lunch and the detail department turns one of them around by three. He adds both in the dealer portal, the VIN decode fills in the trim and the specifications, the first one gets his own photos and the second one gets stock imagery until the photographer comes Thursday. He does nothing else. By the time the internet manager looks at the dealership website that afternoon, both units are in the widget on the used inventory page, and the one with the better photos is already getting clicks.

A shopper on that page finds the truck she has been looking for, taps it, and the request sheet slides up. On a phone every panel rises from the bottom of the screen, the way the apps she uses every day behave, so she fills it in without fighting the keyboard. She asks whether it is still available and whether she can see it Saturday. That request lands in the portal under Requests and in the LeadLocate CRM with the truck attached, so the salesperson who picks it up answers with the stock number, the price and a Saturday time instead of asking what she was looking at.

Meanwhile a salesperson who runs his own personal website has the same widget on his page. His customers see the same inventory, the same photos and the same prices, and his requests land in his own queue. The store manages one inventory; every page that shows it stays current. That is the day. Nothing about it requires anyone to remember to update anything.

Where the widget lives in the CRM, the portal and on the phone

The widget is built and managed in the Inventory Link dealer portal, under Builder, alongside the inventory website builder. You create a widget, the portal issues its key, and you copy the script tag. Paste it into your website's page editor where you want the inventory to appear and the vehicles render there. The page it lives on stays yours, in your web vendor's editor, with your design around it.

From the CRM side, the portal opens from the My Inventory button in the dock at the bottom of the LeadLocate CRM, with single sign on, so nobody keeps a second password. The Inventory item in the main menu shows the same vehicles the widget renders, and the vehicle insert button in every text and email composer drops any of them into a message. The request a shopper sends through the widget arrives with the unit attached, and the reply can carry that same unit back as a formatted vehicle card, which is what the send vehicles by text page covers.

On the phone, the LeadLocate app carries the inventory list with a detail sheet and an inventory picker, so a salesperson answering a widget request from the lot sees exactly what the shopper saw. The dealer portal itself is in the app stores under the listing name MyInventory.Link for the managers who prefer to add and edit units from a phone.

What the widget replaces, and what it costs elsewhere

Most stores are paying for inventory display in at least two places. The website vendor charges for the inventory module on the dealership site. A landing page tool, if the store runs event pages or per salesperson pages, charges again for a hosted inventory block, and often that block shows a stale export because nobody re-uploads the feed. Salespeople who build their own pages usually end up linking to a third party marketplace, where the customer sees three competitors' cars next to the one they were sent.

The widget collapses all of that into one inventory and one script tag. The inventory is the one Inventory Link holds, decoded through VIN decode and the vehicle database, with promo photos and stock imagery where your own photos are missing, and it is the same inventory the CRM and the phone app show. There is no export to re-upload and no second inventory to reconcile. When the widget is the only inventory display a page needs, the module the web vendor charges for becomes optional.

What it costs with LeadLocate is nothing beyond the plan. The widget is part of the platform subscription, month to month, and the pricing page lists the plans, from CRM Only for a store that wants the software with its own lead flow to the plans that add exclusive local leads on top.

The compliance angle: one price, one description, everywhere

Inventory advertising problems usually come from having more than one copy of the truth. A price gets changed on the lot, updated in the feed, and left alone on the landing page a salesperson built in March. A shopper screenshots the old price and the store spends a morning explaining it. The widget removes the extra copies. Every widget reads the same inventory record, so the price, the mileage, the trim and the stock number a shopper sees on any page are the ones your portal holds.

The description side works the same way. The trim and equipment come from the VIN decode, and the fuel economy and safety figures come from the government data in the vehicle database, so the listing says what the vehicle is rather than what somebody typed at intake. When you apply a stock number override so the number on the windshield matches the number in the system, that override shows in the widget too.

Every request that comes through the widget is a shopper who chose a specific vehicle, typed their own contact details and asked to hear from you. That is the kind of contact a sales team can follow up with confidence, and the CRM logs the conversation from the first reply.

How to turn the widget on

The widget needs inventory to show, so the first step is getting your vehicles into Inventory Link. If you have a feed, connect it under Feeds in the dealer portal. If you do not, point the importer at your dealership website and Inventory Link imports the vehicles from it, with twenty eight website platforms recognised; the import inventory from your website page explains that path. A broker with no lot at all switches on auto broker inventory mode instead. In every case, an inventory feed and DMS access are not required.

With vehicles in the portal, open Builder, create a widget, and copy the script tag with its key. Paste it into the page where you want the inventory to appear. That is the setup. When you want a second widget for a second page, create another; each carries its own key and reads the same inventory. If your website builder blocks script tags, or your page needs the widget presented in a way the standard version does not cover, that is available on request, our team puts it in production for your dealership.

If you would rather see it working before you touch anything, the pre-recorded live demo shows inventory going into the portal and out onto a page, and the contact page reaches a person who can put your own vehicles in a widget for you.

What to pair the widget with

The widget shows inventory; the rest of the platform turns the shopper who saw it into an appointment. Pair it with the vehicle finder, so a shopper who does not see the unit they want can describe it and have it located, and with Schedule a Visit requests, so the request sheet under each vehicle leads to a time on your calendar rather than a vague callback. Salespeople who want their own presence pair it with the salesperson websites the builder produces from a template, each one showing the store's real inventory under that person's name.

Stores that run offers pair the widget with brand offer pages and the OEM incentives engine, so a shopper who finds the unit in the widget can also see what the manufacturer is offering on it. And every store pairs it with the vehicle insert button in the CRM, because the shopper who asked about a vehicle on your website should get a text back with that vehicle in it, photo and price included.

The widget is one feature among many on the all features page. On its own it is a tidy way to put live inventory on any page. Connected to the CRM, it is the front door to a conversation your team can actually finish.

What keeps working when we are down

It is worth saying plainly, because a widget on your website is a dependency and you should know what happens if our side is unreachable. Your website is still your website. The page the widget sits on keeps loading, your web vendor's own inventory pages keep serving if you kept them, your feed keeps flowing to everyone else who consumes it, and your phones keep ringing. Requests already delivered to the CRM are in the CRM for your team to work, and vehicle cards already sent by text are in your customers' hands.

When service returns, the widget picks up the current inventory on the next load and the next import or regenerate catches whatever changed in between. Nothing about how your store sells a car has been moved onto our servers as a single point of failure, and if you need a person during an interruption, the contact page reaches one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the widget work on a website built by another vendor?

Yes. It is one script tag, pasted into any page editor that accepts HTML. The page stays in your web vendor's system with your design around it; the widget only renders the inventory inside the space you give it. If a builder blocks script tags, our team puts a working setup in production for your dealership on request.

Can I run more than one widget?

Yes. Each widget has its own key, so the dealership site, a salesperson's personal page and an event landing page can each carry one. They all read the same inventory in the dealer portal, so a price change or a sold unit updates everywhere at once.

Where do requests from the widget go?

To the dealer portal under Requests and to the LeadLocate CRM, with the vehicle attached. The salesperson who picks it up sees the exact unit the shopper chose and can reply by text with that vehicle's card, photo and price included.

Do I need an inventory feed to use the widget?

No. A feed is one way to get vehicles into Inventory Link. Without one, Inventory Link imports the vehicles from your own dealership website, and a broker with no lot uses auto broker inventory mode. An inventory feed and DMS access are not required.

What do the vehicles look like inside the widget?

The same as everywhere else in the platform: decoded trim and specifications, your own photos when you have them, promo photos and stock imagery when you do not, the price and stock number from your inventory record, and a request sheet under each unit.

Is the widget an extra charge?

No. It is part of the LeadLocate platform subscription, month to month. The pricing page carries the current plans and what each includes.
