AutoRaptor vs LeadLocate: Automotive CRM Comparison

Two systems aimed at similar stores from opposite starting points, and a straight read on which one fits yours.

AutoRaptor is an automotive CRM built mainly for independent and small to mid sized dealerships, focused on lead management, follow up and mobile workflow. LeadLocate is a lead generation platform with a full CRM built around it, sold month to month. The real question is whether you also need a vendor to supply leads, not just manage them.

The honest starting point: these products solve different halves of the problem

A CRM comparison usually turns into a feature checklist, which is the least useful way to make this decision. Both of these systems store customers, send texts, assign follow up and produce reports. If you evaluate them on that basis you will find them broadly similar and pick the cheaper demo.

The difference that matters is upstream. AutoRaptor is a customer relationship management product: you bring lead flow from your website, your third party providers and your floor traffic, and the software helps your people work it. LeadLocate was built the other direction. It starts with generating lead flow inside a territory you own, then wraps a CRM around it so those leads get worked in the same place they arrive.

So the question to answer before you look at either demo is simple. Is your store short on opportunities, or short on discipline handling the opportunities you already get? If it is discipline, a CRM change alone can help and either product is a candidate. If it is volume, a CRM will organize a shortage very neatly and your sales number will not move.

What AutoRaptor is known for

AutoRaptor has been in the automotive CRM market a long time and has a real reputation with independent and small to mid sized dealerships. Its positioning has consistently been about being practical and usable rather than enterprise heavy, which is a genuine strength in stores where nobody has time to administer software.

The capabilities dealers commonly associate with it are activity based lead management with defined follow up steps, texting and email from the customer record, a mobile application for working leads and doing lot work away from a desk, lead import from third party sources, and integrations with a number of dealer management systems. Stores that like it usually mention that salespeople actually use it, which is not a small compliment in this category.

Features, packaging and pricing change over time, and vendors reposition. Verify anything that will drive your decision directly with AutoRaptor rather than trusting any comparison page, this one included. We deliberately do not publish competitor pricing, because guessing at it would be unfair to them and useless to you.

What LeadLocate is built to do

LeadLocate is one platform made of four connected products, and most dealers have only ever seen the CRM part.

The lead side delivers exclusive leads inside a territory you define. There are two families. Inbound buyer leads come from in market shoppers. Opt in seller leads come from local owners who filled out one of our vehicle offer request pages and asked to be contacted about selling their vehicle, which gives a used car department a consumer acquisition channel instead of only the auction. Nothing is screened out before delivery. We ask pre screening questions at capture and deliver every submitted lead in your zone exclusively, and problems are handled by post delivery replacement review rather than by a quality claim made in advance.

The CRM side covers lead inbox and distribution with rules, SMS and MMS threading, RCS with SMS fallback, click to call with a VoIP softphone, call recording with transcription, voicemail drop, email inbox and composer, bulk email with recipient management, automations, follow up processes, drip campaigns with an editor, appointments and reminders, three reporting layers, and a desking engine covering loan and lease with a fifty state tax matrix. There is also an email validator and a phone validator built in, which most dealers do not expect from a CRM.

Two more products sit alongside. AutoMail is a full inbound voice stack with IVR, call routing and forwarding. SecureWebX handles secure online credit applications, apply links you can text, worksheets and a compliance module. My Inventory Link ingests your feed and builds per salesperson inventory sites.

Choose AutoRaptor if

We would rather you stay where you belong than switch and switch back in five months. AutoRaptor is likely the better fit if several of these describe you.

  • You already have lead flow you are satisfied with and you only need software to manage it.
  • Your team is happy on it today and adoption is genuinely good, which is the hardest thing to buy and the easiest thing to break.
  • A specific DMS integration you rely on is supported there and you have confirmed it works the way you need.
  • Your budget is CRM sized and adding a lead program is not on the table this year.
  • You are mid contract and the exit cost outweighs the difference in capability.

None of that is a criticism of anything. A CRM that your salespeople use willingly is worth more than a longer feature list they ignore.

Choose LeadLocate if

The case for us gets strong when more than one of these is true at the same time.

  • You want lead generation and CRM from one vendor on one bill instead of stitching two together and reconciling them yourself.
  • You want exclusive leads in a defined territory rather than shared internet leads that three stores are calling at once.
  • Your used car department needs a consumer acquisition channel, not just a place to store customers.
  • You want the phone stack in the same system: IVR, routing, softphone, recording and transcription rather than a separate telephony vendor.
  • You want secure credit applications and apply links without buying another product.
  • Contract length is a sticking point and you want the freedom to leave the month we stop earning it.
  • You want individual salespeople able to run on the platform with their own sites, not just the store.

If the acquisition side is the piece you are missing, the seller leads page explains exactly how those leads are generated and delivered.

What a CRM switch actually costs, past the subscription

The monthly difference is almost never the expensive part. Five other costs are, and they are the ones nobody quotes in a demo.

  1. Data. Getting customer records, notes and communication history out in a usable format. Settle this before you give notice, not after. Ask exactly what exports, in what format, and whether message history comes with it.
  2. Overlap. Budget for paying both vendors for a few weeks. Cutting over cold is the most reliable way to lose leads during a transition.
  3. Adoption. Expect a dip for two to four weeks while people relearn habits. This is a management cost more than a training cost.
  4. Repointing. Every source that posts into your current CRM has to be redirected: website forms, third party lead providers, chat, phone, inventory. Build that list before you start.
  5. Reporting continuity. Pull the historical reports you will want to compare against next year while you still have access to them.

If you want this in checklist form, our CRM migration checklist is written to be used with any vendor rather than as a sales piece for ours.

A better way to decide than a rip and replace

You do not need to bet the store on a demo. Pilot instead of switching.

Run one team, or one lead source, on the new platform for three or four weeks while everything else stays exactly where it is. Point a defined slice of flow at it. Then compare three numbers against the same period on your current system: time to first response, number of follow up touches before the trail goes cold, and appointments set that showed. Those three tell you more than any side by side chart, including the one above.

Month to month pricing exists so this is actually possible on our side. If a pilot goes badly you have lost a month and learned something real. If it goes well, you expand with evidence instead of hope. A vendor that demands a multi year commitment before you can evaluate is asking you to carry a risk they will not carry themselves.

Questions to put to both vendors, including us

Take this list into every demo and write the answers down. What is the total monthly cost with every module I actually need, and what is the renewal price? How long is the contract and what is the cancellation process? What exactly can I export if I leave, and does that include communication history? Who owns the customer data? What does implementation take in weeks and what does my store have to supply? What does support look like at 6pm on a Saturday? If leads are included, are they exclusive, how is my territory defined, and what happens when a lead is unworkable? Does anything here require a DMS connection or an inventory feed to function?

On our side the answer to that last one is no. Neither is required, which is why brokers and individual salespeople run on the platform, and if you do have a feed, Inventory Link ingests it and advertises your actual vehicles. We cannot guarantee lead counts, close rates or sales results, and any vendor who does is selling a forecast. If you want to see ours answered live, start with the demo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is LeadLocate a straight replacement for AutoRaptor?

For lead management, texting, calling, follow up, reporting and desking, it covers the same ground and adds a voice stack, credit applications and lead generation. Verify your specific DMS integration needs first, since ours is not as deep as a DMS native vendor's.

Does LeadLocate include leads or just software?

Both are available. CRM Only is $199 per month if you have your own lead sources. Plans that include exclusive territory leads start at $799, seller side Marketplace Acquisitions at $999, and the Buyers and Sellers Hybrid Plan at $1,599.

How much does AutoRaptor cost?

We do not publish competitor pricing because we would be guessing and packaging changes. Ask AutoRaptor directly for a current quote including every module you need and the renewal price.

Can we run both systems during the transition?

Yes, and we recommend a period of overlap. Running with no overlap is how stores lose leads during a cutover, and a few weeks of double subscription is cheap insurance.

Do we need a DMS integration or an inventory feed?

No. Neither is required to operate on our platform. If you have an inventory feed, My Inventory Link ingests it and can build per salesperson inventory sites from it.

Are the leads exclusive to my dealership?

Yes. You define a territory and leads submitted inside that zone come to you and are not resold to other stores. Nothing is screened out before delivery, and issues after delivery go through replacement review.
