Activix vs LeadLocate

Two automotive CRMs built for different markets and different problems. Here is how to tell which one is yours.

Activix is an automotive CRM with deep roots in the Canadian market and strong bilingual support. LeadLocate is a US only platform that supplies exclusive local leads and includes a full CRM around them. The practical dividing line is geography first, then whether you want your leads and your CRM from one vendor. Pricing here.

Start with the question that settles most of this

Before comparing feature lists, answer one question: where are your stores. LeadLocate operates in the United States only. Our lead territories, our messaging compliance work and our fifty state tax matrix are all built around US operations, and we do not deliver leads outside the country.

Activix is best known in the Canadian market and its bilingual English and French capability is a genuine strength there. If you operate in Quebec, or anywhere a fully bilingual interface and bilingual customer communication are a requirement rather than a nice to have, that alone is a serious argument, and no amount of feature comparison should override it.

So the honest framing is not that one product beats the other. It is that a Canadian store with bilingual requirements and a US store looking for leads and CRM on one invoice are shopping in different aisles. If you are a US dealership, read on. If you are Canadian, we are probably not your answer, and we would rather say that on the first screen than waste your afternoon.

Features, packaging and market coverage change over time. Verify anything decision critical directly with each vendor rather than relying on any comparison page, including this one.

What Activix is built for

Activix is an automotive CRM aimed at dealerships and dealer groups, with a reputation built in Canada and a product shaped by that market. Public positioning centers on lead and opportunity management, communication tracking, walk in and phone up capture, campaign and event handling, and management reporting across rooftops.

The bilingual side deserves specific mention because it is not a checkbox. Running a store where staff work in French and customers are contacted in French requires the interface, the templates and the reporting to all speak the same language, and vendors who bolt translation on afterward tend to leak English into exactly the places a customer sees. A product built bilingual from the start behaves differently.

Beyond that, the integration landscape matters. A CRM's real value in a franchise environment often comes down to how well it connects to the dealer management system you run, to manufacturer programs and to the lead providers already sending you business. Those integrations are region specific, so ask Activix directly which ones are live for your market and your DMS rather than assuming from a website list.

We are deliberately not going to characterize Activix pricing, contract terms or specific feature depth. We do not have current inside knowledge of those, and inventing them would make this page worthless. Ask the vendor.

What LeadLocate is built for

LeadLocate started from the lead side rather than the CRM side, and that shows in the design. It is a lead generation platform with a full CRM built around it, sold month to month to dealerships and to individual salespeople.

On the lead side you choose a territory around your store, and leads submitted inside that zone come to you exclusively rather than being sold to three stores at once. Two families exist. Inbound buyer leads from in market shoppers, and opt in seller leads from local owners who filled out a vehicle offer request and asked to be contacted about selling their car. Nothing is filtered or scored. We ask pre screening questions at capture and deliver every submitted lead in the zone, with problems handled by post delivery replacement review rather than by a quality promise made up front. Leads arrive as a mix of VIN specific and open shoppers, and we do not promise a ratio.

The CRM side is where dealers are usually surprised. Lead inbox and distribution rules, SMS and MMS, RCS with automatic SMS fallback, a VoIP softphone with click to call, call recording with transcription, voicemail drop, a real email inbox and composer with bulk email, automations, follow up processes and drip campaigns with a drip editor, appointments and reminders, desking covering loan and lease with a fifty state tax matrix, lead pages, personal salesperson websites, a free live chat widget, document AI for VIN scanning, and three layers of reporting.

There are also tools most dealers have never seen inside a CRM: a phone validator and an email validator that check contact data before a campaign burns your sending reputation on it.

Choose Activix if

There are real reasons to pick them, and we would rather name them than pretend they do not exist.

  • You operate in Canada, or in any market where LeadLocate does not deliver leads and does not carry the local compliance work.
  • Bilingual English and French operation is a requirement for your staff, your customers or your manufacturer.
  • You already have lead sources you are satisfied with, and a vendor supplying leads is not something you need or want.
  • Their integration with the dealer management system you run is live, proven and central to how your store operates.
  • You are part of a group already standardized on Activix, where a single rooftop deviating creates a reporting problem larger than any feature gain.

That last one is underrated. Consistency across rooftops is worth real money in a group, and breaking it for a marginal feature win is usually a bad trade.

Choose LeadLocate if

The case for us is strongest when several of these are true together.

  • You are a US dealership and you want leads and CRM from one vendor on one invoice instead of stitching two systems together yourself.
  • You want exclusive local leads rather than shared internet leads that three stores are calling within the same minute.
  • You want the acquisition side too. Opt in seller leads from local owners are covered on the seller leads page, and they are an inbound channel, not a listing hunt.
  • Contract length is a sticking point and you want the freedom to leave any month we stop earning it.
  • You want individual salespeople able to run on the platform with their own site and their own numbers, not just the store.
  • You do not have, or do not want to depend on, a DMS integration or an inventory feed. Neither is required.
  • You want desking, credit application intake and communication in the same place as the lead, rather than three logins and a copy paste habit.

If you want the wider CRM view rather than a head to head, the automotive CRM overview covers the module surface in detail.

What a switch actually costs, beyond the subscription

The monthly difference is usually the smallest number in a CRM change. The costs that hurt are the ones nobody quotes in a demo.

  1. Data. Establish exactly what you can export, in what format, and whether communication history comes with it, before you give notice. Your leverage is never higher than the moment before you sign, and never lower than the moment after you cancel.
  2. Overlap. Plan on paying two vendors for a few weeks. Cutting over with no overlap is the most common way stores lose leads during a change.
  3. Adoption. The real cost. Expect a productivity dip for two to four weeks while habits reset. Budget management attention, not just training hours.
  4. Integrations. Every third party currently posting into your CRM has to be repointed: website forms, third party lead providers, chat, phone, inventory. Build that list before you start, not during.
  5. Reporting continuity. Historical numbers stay behind unless you export them. Pull the reports you will want to compare against next year while you still have access.

Our CRM migration checklist works through the sequence and is written to be used with any vendor, including one that is not us.

A safer way to decide than a rip and replace

You do not have to bet the store to find out. Pilot instead of switching.

Run one store, or one team inside one store, on the new platform for three to four weeks while everything else stays where it is. Point a defined slice of lead flow at it. Then measure three things against your current system over the same period: time to first response, number of follow up touches before a lead goes cold, and appointments set. Those three tell you more than any demo, and they are hard to argue with afterward.

Month to month pricing exists so this is possible. A vendor requiring a multi year commitment before you can evaluate is asking you to carry a risk they will not carry themselves. If the pilot goes badly you lose a month and learn something real. If it goes well you expand on evidence instead of hope.

Take the same questions into both demos. What is the total monthly cost with every module I actually need, and what is the renewal price? What is the contract length and the cancellation process? Exactly what can I export if I leave, and does it include communication history? Who owns the customer data? What does support look like at six on a Saturday evening? If leads are included, are they exclusive to my store and how is my territory defined? What happens when a lead is bad? Write the answers down. Vendors comfortable being pinned down in writing tend to be the ones still worth having in year three.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does LeadLocate work in Canada?

No. We operate in the United States only. Territories, messaging compliance and the tax engine are built around US operations, and we do not deliver leads outside the country. A Canadian store should evaluate Canadian vendors.

Is LeadLocate a direct replacement for Activix?

For lead management, communication, follow up, desking and reporting it covers the same ground for a US store. It is not bilingual and it is not an OEM certified CRM, so verify those requirements against your own before comparing anything else.

Does LeadLocate include leads or just software?

Both are available. CRM Only starts at $199 a month if you already have lead sources. Plans that include exclusive local leads start at $799. Seller side acquisition and hybrid plans are priced separately on the pricing page.

Do we need a DMS integration or an inventory feed?

No. Neither is required, which is why brokers and individual salespeople can run on the platform. If you do have a feed, Inventory Link can ingest it and advertise your actual vehicles.

Can we run both systems during a transition?

Yes, and we recommend it. A period of overlap costs a few weeks of double subscription and prevents the far more expensive problem of leads falling through the gap during a cutover.

Are your leads exclusive, and are they screened?

Exclusive to your territory and not resold to other dealerships. Nothing is filtered or scored. We ask pre screening questions at capture and deliver every submitted lead in the zone, with problems handled by post delivery replacement review.
