Compare
Numa vs LeadLocate
One is aimed at answering the phone. The other is a lead source with a full CRM around it. Knowing which problem you have decides this.
Start by naming the problem you actually have
Dealers put these two names side by side for one of two very different reasons, and the comparison only makes sense once you know which one you are.
The first reason is a phone problem. Calls ring out during the morning service rush, customers leave voicemails nobody returns, and the store loses appointments it never knew it had. That is a call handling problem, and it is largely a fixed operations problem.
The second reason is a sales pipeline problem. You do not have enough opportunities, or you have them and they are not worked, or your leads and your CRM come from two vendors who blame each other. That is a lead generation and CRM problem.
Software that is excellent at the first will not solve the second, and the reverse is equally true. Most bad vendor decisions in this category come from a store that had problem two and bought a product designed for problem one because a demo was impressive. Be specific about which fire you are putting out before you sit through anything.
What Numa is known for
Numa built its reputation on the dealership phone, and particularly on the service drive. In broad public terms it is an artificial intelligence assistant that answers calls the store cannot get to, moves callers to text, handles routine requests such as status questions and appointment scheduling, and keeps a record of the conversation so the department can pick it up later. Fixed operations is where it is most visible, because that is where the call volume and the abandonment rate are worst in most stores.
If your service department misses a meaningful share of its inbound calls, that is a real revenue problem, and a product aimed squarely at it is a legitimate purchase. We are not going to argue otherwise, and there is no version of this page where we tell you a sales CRM fixes a service phone that nobody answers.
What we will not do is describe their current feature set, packaging or pricing in detail, because vendor capability changes constantly and a comparison page written by a competitor is the worst possible source for it. Get that from Numa directly, in writing, and hold them to it.
What LeadLocate is built for
LeadLocate came from the other direction. It is a lead generation platform with a full sales CRM built around it, sold month to month to dealerships and to individual salespeople.
On the lead side you choose a territory around your store and leads inside that zone are delivered to you exclusively rather than resold to three competitors. There are two families. Inbound buyer leads come from in market shoppers, a mix of VIN specific inquiries and open shoppers describing what they want. Opt in seller leads come from local owners who filled out a vehicle offer request and asked to be contacted about selling their car. Nothing is filtered or scored. Every submitted lead in your zone is delivered, and problems are handled by post delivery replacement review rather than by a quality promise made up front. The seller leads page explains the acquisition side.
On the software side you get lead management with distribution rules, SMS and MMS threading, RCS messaging with SMS fallback, a click to call dialer with a VoIP softphone, call recording with transcription, voicemail drop, email with a real inbox and composer, bulk email, automations and follow up processes, drip campaigns, appointments and reminders, a desking tool covering loan and lease with a fifty state tax matrix, lead pages, personal salesperson websites, a free live chat widget, and three layers of reporting.
There is also a full inbound voice stack of our own through AutoMail: IVR with routing, number and media management, call forwarding, call history and a mail center. So the phone is not an afterthought here, even though the product's center of gravity is sales rather than service.

Choose Numa if
We would rather you buy the right thing than buy ours. Their case is stronger than ours when the following describe your store.
- Your worst measurable problem is inbound calls going unanswered, especially in service between seven and ten in the morning.
- Fixed operations is where you are losing money, and your sales side already has a CRM your team genuinely uses.
- You want a product that lives almost entirely on the phone and the text thread and does not ask your salespeople to change how they work anywhere else.
- You have lead sources you are satisfied with and no interest in changing where opportunities come from.
- Your evaluation is being run by a fixed operations director rather than a sales manager.
If service is genuinely the fire, be aware of what we do not sell before you compare us at all: no repair order management, no service scheduling against shop capacity, no technician time or dispatch, no parts. Our service CRM page states that limit plainly.
Choose LeadLocate if
The case for us gets strong when several of these are true at the same time.
- You need more sales opportunities, not just better handling of the ones already calling. Answering the phone faster does not create shoppers.
- You are paying one vendor for leads and another for CRM and doing the integration work yourself.
- You want exclusive local leads rather than shared internet leads that three stores are dialing simultaneously.
- You want the acquisition side too, meaning opt in seller leads from local owners who asked to be contacted about their vehicle.
- You want desking, credit applications and follow up in the same place as the conversation, so a deal does not live in four systems.
- Contract length matters to you and you want the freedom to leave monthly if we stop earning it.
- You want individual salespeople to be able to run on the platform, not only the store.
They are not mutually exclusive
The honest answer for a fair number of stores is both, and it is worth saying because comparison pages usually pretend the decision is binary.
A franchise store with a busy service department and a soft sales pipeline has two separate problems. Buying one product for the service phone and another for sales lead flow and CRM is not indecision, it is correct scoping. The systems touch different departments, different staff and different budgets.
Where you should push back is on overlap you are paying for twice. If you end up with two products that both text customers, decide which one owns the customer conversation on the sales side and enforce it, because a shopper receiving texts from two systems under two numbers is a compliance problem and a trust problem before it is a reporting problem. Opt out status has to be respected across everything you run, and that is easier when one platform owns each conversation type.
What adding or switching actually costs
The subscription is rarely the expensive part. The costs that hurt are the ones no vendor quotes.
- Data. If you are replacing a CRM rather than adding a phone tool, establish before you give notice exactly what you can export, in what format, and whether communication history comes with it.
- Overlap. Plan to pay two vendors for a few weeks. Cutting over with no overlap is the most common way a store loses leads during a change.
- Adoption. Expect a dip for two to four weeks while people relearn habits. This is management attention, not training hours, and it is where most implementations quietly fail.
- Repointing. Every website form, third party provider, chat tool and phone number that currently feeds your current system has to be redirected. Make the list before you start.
- Reporting continuity. Pull the historical reports you will want to compare against next year while you still have access to them.
Our CRM migration checklist works through this in order and is written to be used with any vendor, including ones we compete with.
Questions to ask both vendors, including us
Take these into every demo and write the answers down. They separate vendors faster than any feature grid.
What is the total monthly cost with every module I actually need, and what is the price at renewal? What is the contract length and how do I cancel? Exactly what can I export if I leave, in what format, and does it include conversation history? Who owns the customer data? What happens when the artificial intelligence gets something wrong on a customer call, and how do I see that it happened? How are opt outs recorded and honored across every channel? If leads are included, are they exclusive to my store and how is my territory drawn? What does support look like at six on a Saturday evening?
Vendors comfortable being pinned down in writing tend to be the ones still worth having in year three. If you want ours answered live rather than in a brochure, the demo is the fastest way, or contact us and ask directly. We cannot guarantee results and neither can anyone else. What we can do is show you the platform running and price it so staying is a monthly decision.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is LeadLocate a direct replacement for Numa?
Not exactly. We provide an inbound voice stack through AutoMail with IVR, routing and call history, plus texting and follow up automation. If your specific need is unattended service call handling, evaluate that on its own terms and verify current capability with each vendor.
Can we run both products at once?
Many stores reasonably would, with one owning the service phone and the other owning sales lead flow and CRM. Decide which system owns each customer conversation so a shopper is not receiving messages from two numbers, and make sure opt outs are honored everywhere.
Does LeadLocate include leads or just the software?
Both are available. CRM Only starts at $199 per month if you already have lead sources. Plans that include exclusive local leads start at $799, with seller programs from $999 and the combined hybrid plan from $1,599.
Do we need a DMS integration or an inventory feed?
No. Neither is required to operate, which is why brokers and individual salespeople can run on the platform. If you do have a feed, Inventory Link can ingest it and advertise your actual vehicles.
Do you handle service repair orders or scheduling against shop capacity?
No. There is no repair order management, technician time or dispatch, shop loading or parts inventory. We provide the customer communication, follow up and sales side that sits alongside whatever system runs your shop.
How current is this comparison?
It reflects public understanding at the time of writing and deliberately avoids describing another vendor's pricing or feature detail. Verify anything decision relevant with Numa directly before you choose.
Compare it against your own numbers, not a feature grid
We will map a territory around your store, show the CRM and the voice stack running on real lead flow, and give you a straight price. Month to month, no long term contract.
