How to Respond to an Application as a Lender in SecureWebX

A dealership sent you a link and a code. Here is what you are looking at, what you can do with it, and how your answer gets back to the desk that asked.

Open the link the dealership sent and enter the access code. The credit application opens in a watermarked viewer, where Open the credit application and Open lender deal recap (PDF) give you the file and the proposed structure. Then answer in the same portal: approve with a call sheet, decline, or request more information. Your answer lands on the store's application in SecureWebX.

Step by Step

  1. Open the share and enter your code

The link and the access code travel separately, so have both. Entering the code opens the lender response portal, a view built for one application and one decision. There is no account to create and nothing to install, and the store can end the access when the deal is placed.

  2. Read the application

Use Open the credit application to read the file the applicant signed: identity, residence, employment, income, the amount requested, the co-applicant if there is one, and the supporting documents the store attached. Note the Application ID for your own notes, since that is the number the desk will use when you call.

  3. Read the structure the store is proposing

When the dealership shared a worksheet, Open lender deal recap (PDF) lays the deal out the way a buyer reads it: the vehicle, the term, the structure, the book-out and the title, stolen, sales, auction and warranty checks the store ran on the unit. A share without a recap is an application only, and you can ask for the structure.

  4. Make the call

Answer in the portal, not by email. Approve the deal and attach your call sheet so the store works from your conditions. Decline it and the store has your answer on the record. Or request more information and list exactly what you need before you can decide.

  5. Send your response to the dealership

Submitting the response puts the decision and any attachment onto the store's application. The desk sees it on the file they are already working, next to the documents and the notes, so nobody is refreshing an inbox waiting for a forwarded message.

  6. Watch for what you asked for

A request for more information becomes a stipulation on the dealership's file, with Upload the requested document and share it with the lender next to it. What they upload appears inside this same view, under the same code and expiry. You do not get a new link and they do not send attachments.

Before you start

You need the link the dealership sent, the access code that came with it, and a browser. That is the whole list. The store controls how long the window stays open and can end it when the deal is placed, which is why nothing about this share asks you to register.

Have your program in front of you as well. The dealership's finance desk keeps your buying rules on their side under Lender Guidelines, so a store that has worked you before usually sends a structure already inside your advance and term rules. SecureWebX is the credit application system the dealership uses; this share is how a single file reaches you from it.

What you should see

One application, with the documents the store attached and, when they shared it, the deal recap. Everything opens in a secure viewer that carries a watermark, with print and download gated, because the store is responsible for where a customer's credit application ends up. You read it, you answer it, and the copy stays with the dealership.

If the store attached a worksheet, the recap shows the structure the desk quoted the customer: cash, finance or lease, the vehicle with its confirmed build and options, the book-out, and the checks run against that unit. The credit application worksheets page describes how the dealership builds it, which is worth knowing if you would rather see the pencil before you price the deal.

How your answer reaches the desk

Through the same portal you reviewed in. The decision and outcome post onto the dealership's application, so the file carries your answer alongside the application, the documents and the store's notes. An approval can carry your call sheet, a decline is recorded as a decline, and a request for more information turns into a tracked item on the store's side instead of a line in an email somebody has to remember.

That last part is the one most worth knowing. The items you list become stipulations on the stipulations workflow, the store uploads each document against the request that asked for it, and the upload made for you appears in your view of the application. One thread, one file, one copy.

If it did not work

The code is rejected. Codes belong to one share. If you have worked with the store before, you may be holding the code from an earlier deal. Ask the desk to send this deal's code.

The link says access has ended. Shares expire by design, and a store can also close one when the deal is placed. Ask the finance manager for a fresh share; it takes them a moment from the application.

You want to print or save it. The viewer is watermarked with print and download gated. Ask the store for what you need for your file, such as the deal recap, and they send it under the same controls.

It is the wrong deal. Tell the desk and the share is revoked from their side immediately. The Send to Lender page describes the code, the expiry, the revoke and the watermark from the dealership's point of view.

Related tasks

Dealers reading this from the other side: sending the file, choosing what the lender sees and setting the window is the same feature, described on the Send to Lender page. Lenders who want to be easier to find by the stores in their market are listed in the Verified Partners directory by category. The LeadLocate Help Center holds the finance office guides, and a response workflow your institution needs is available on request, with our team putting it in production for the dealerships you buy from.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account to review the application?

No. You open the link the dealership sent, enter the access code, and review the file in the lender response portal. There is nothing to install and nothing to register.

What can I do besides approve or decline?

Request more information and list what you need. Those items become stipulations on the dealership's application, and each document they upload for you appears inside the share you are already using.

Why can I not download the application?

The viewer is watermarked with print and download gated, because the store is accountable for where a customer's credit file travels. Ask the desk for what your credit package needs and they send it under the same controls.

How long will my access last?

The dealership chooses when it sends, commonly three to thirty days, and can end access sooner once the deal is placed. If you are still working the file, ask for a fresh share.
