How to Build a Lead Campaign in LeadLocate

Draw the zone you sell into, read the market, choose the offers and submit; our team runs the campaign and the leads land in your inbox.

A lead campaign in LeadLocate CRM is built in Leads Manager. You create the campaign, choose whether it brings in buyers or sellers, draw the Sales Zone on the map, run Scan My Market to read the area, set the offers the campaign leads with, choose the schedule and volume, review and submit. Our team runs the media from those selections and every lead lands in your CRM inbox.

Step by Step

  1. Create the campaign

In LeadLocate CRM on the desktop, open Leads Manager and click Create a New Campaign. Choose Inbound Campaign for buyer leads or Acquisitions Campaign for local owners who want an offer on their vehicle. Type a Campaign Name that says where and what, such as Westside 30 Mile Shoppers, and click Continue to Zone Setup.

  2. Draw the sales zone

On the Sales Zone step, enter the dealership address or a landmark to center the map and set the Sales zone radius. Adjust the shape ZIP by ZIP so the zone covers where you deliver cars and leaves out where you never have. The zip stats beside each ZIP tell you whether an outlying one earns its place.

  3. Scan the market

Click Scan My Market or Scan This Zone to read the area you are about to campaign in. Use what it shows to decide whether the zone is the right size before you spend anything on it.

  4. Set the offers

Under Custom Offers click Add Offer for each offer the campaign leads with: the event this month, the trade in offer, the financing offer the store runs year round. Click See Samples to see what a shopper in the zone will see, and open How the lead form works to read what the form asks.

  5. Choose schedule and volume

On Schedule & Volume set when the campaign runs and how many leads a month you want it to bring in. Under Delivery Preferences confirm how the leads reach your team; they land in the CRM inbox with the campaign as their source.

  6. Review and submit

Open Review, read the zone, the offers and the volume back to yourself, then submit the campaign. Our team takes those selections and runs the media. To rename it later use Rename campaign; to run a second zone click Add Another Campaign.

Before you start

Leads Manager is available on the plans that include leads, listed month to month on the pricing page; a store on CRM Only moves to one of those to build a campaign. A Manager or Master Administrator role in LeadLocate CRM is required. Before you open the builder, know three things: the territory you actually deliver into, the offers the store is running this month, and how many leads a month the floor can work well. A zone drawn around where the service customers live beats a zone drawn around the county line.

For a buyer campaign, the units the store has are what get advertised where the campaign calls for them, because Inventory Link reads your live inventory; a feed is not required, so a broker with no lot runs the same builder. For a seller campaign, the leads are local owners who filled out one of our vehicle offer request pages and asked to be contacted. If you hold your own advertising accounts and want the campaign to run through them, connect them first from Ad Accounts.

What you should see

After you submit, the campaign appears in the Leads Manager list with its name, its Ad Network and its Network Status. Open it and the zone, the offers and the volume are as you set them; the campaign is a thing you edit, not a thing you ordered. Our team launches and manages the media from your selections.

Within days the first leads land in the CRM inbox with the campaign as their source. Every lead submitted inside the zone is delivered to your store and to nobody else, prescreened at capture by the questions on the form, and backed by a replacement review, so a wrong number or a duplicate goes through a Quality Control Request and costs you nothing. Round robin hands each lead to the floor, the Automated Templates for the feed send the first text, and a month later the Reports dashboard shows what the zone produced so you can redraw it.

If it did not work

The builder is not in your menu. The account is on a plan without leads. The pricing page lists the plans that include Leads Manager, and moving to one is done from My LeadLocate.

The campaign submitted but no leads have arrived. Check Network Status on the campaign. A campaign our team is still completing has not gone live yet; once it is live, leads follow within days, not minutes. If the zone is very small or the volume is set low, the first leads take longer; open the campaign, read the market scan again and widen the zone or raise the volume.

The leads are landing under the wrong feed. Give the campaign its own feed in Lead Feeds Manager so the leads carry the campaign as their source and get their own first touch templates. Some targeting controls are locked. That is a financing campaign, which runs under fair lending rules; it is planned around a zone and an offer, and our team runs it that way.

Related tasks

Give the campaign's leads their own feed and their own Automated Templates in Lead Feeds Manager. If the store already holds advertising accounts, connect your own ad accounts and point the campaign at one; otherwise the managed webXintel Ads Network carries it. To cover the next town, add a zone from My LeadLocate and draw it in Leads Manager the same day.

The Leads Manager feature page covers the builder in full and the what to expect from car sales leads page explains what the inbox will look like. Every other walkthrough is in the help center, and the contact page reaches a person who will look at your market with you.

Tips from the floor

Draw the zone around where you deliver, not around where you wish you delivered. Lead with the offer the store can actually honor on a Saturday afternoon. Set the volume to what the floor can call back within minutes, because a lead the store cannot answer is money spent twice. Redraw the zone once a month from the Reports numbers rather than from a feeling, and name campaigns by place and offer so a year from now the list still makes sense.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I run the ads myself?

No. You make the selections in Leads Manager, the zone, the offers, the schedule and the volume, and our team runs the media from them, through the managed network or through ad accounts you have connected.

Are the leads exclusive to my store?

Yes. Every lead submitted inside your zone is delivered to your store and to nobody else, prescreened at capture and backed by a replacement review, so a bad lead costs you nothing.

Can I change the zone after the campaign starts?

Yes. Open the campaign in Leads Manager, redraw the zone, adjust the offers or the volume and submit again. Our team runs the updated selections.

What is the difference between an inbound and an acquisitions campaign?

An Inbound Campaign brings in buyers who want a vehicle. An Acquisitions Campaign brings in local owners who filled out one of our vehicle offer request pages and want a number on their car.
