How to Ask Jax in LeadLocate
Jax is the assistant on the dock of the CRM, for the people who work at the store. Type a question or say it out loud, in English or in Spanish, and keep working.
Step by Step
Find the ask box on the dock
The dock runs across the bottom of the CRM. In the middle of it is a box that invites you to ask for help from the assistant, with a send arrow on the right and two small controls under it, a trash icon that clears the conversation and a microphone for speaking instead of typing. It is on every screen in the CRM, so you never leave the lead you are working to ask something.
Ask a real question, not a keyword
Type the question the way you would say it to a coworker. Ask how to do the thing you are stuck on, ask it to write the text you are about to send, ask what a term on the worksheet means, ask it to shorten the message you just typed. Short keywords get vague answers; a whole sentence gets a useful one. Send it with the arrow.
Or say it out loud
Tap the microphone and speak the question instead. Voice input is the right choice when you are between customers, standing at a desk with paperwork in both hands, or simply faster at talking than typing. The words land in the box, where you can read them before you send, because dictation hears a VIN differently than you said it.
Read the answer and ask the follow up
The answer comes back in the same panel. Keep going in the same thread when your next question is about the same thing, because the follow up lands better with the first question behind it. Ask it to make the draft shorter, friendlier, or to take the exclamation points out.
Ask in Spanish if that is how you think
Jax works out whether you are writing or speaking English or Spanish and answers in that language. There is no setting to change and no second app to open. A bilingual floor can share a workstation and the assistant follows whoever is talking, which matters most on the busiest day, when the person handling every Spanish speaking customer is also the person with the least time.
Clear the conversation when you change subject
The trash icon under the box clears the thread. Do it when you move from writing a text to a customer to asking how a setting works, so the answers stay on the subject you are actually on. Starting clean takes one click and saves you reading around an old conversation.
Take the draft back into the composer
When you have asked for wording, the message still has to go out from the place that records it. Paste or write it into the text or email composer on the lead, read it once more with the customer's name in front of you, and send it from there so the delivery status and the whole thread land on the record.
Before you start
Nothing to install, nothing to enable, no second login. Jax is part of LeadLocate CRM, sitting on the dock with My Office, Marketing Tools, Design Studio, My Inventory, SecureWebX and Reports. If you are signed in to the CRM, the ask box is already in front of you.
It helps to know what it is for before the first question. Jax faces the person working at the store: the salesperson with eleven texts to answer, the BDC agent who sends the same kinds of messages all day and needs each one to read like it was written for that shopper, the manager who would rather ask than hunt through a menu. The Jax page covers what the assistant is; this page is how to ask it something.
What you should see
An answer in the panel, in the language you asked in, within a few seconds. A draft you can edit rather than a finished thing you have to accept. The thread staying where it is while you keep working in the CRM behind it, because the assistant sits on the dock and not in a separate window you have to go back and forth to.
What you will not see is anything leaving the building on its own. Jax drafts; a person sends. Every text and email still goes out from your login, from the store's number or the store's domain, with the delivery status on the bubble and the whole conversation in the communications log on the lead. That is the design, not a setting, and it is why the responsibility for what a customer receives stays exactly where it was.

If it did not work
The answer was generic. The question was. Add the detail you left out: the unit, the customer's situation, what you already tried, how long the message should be. Ask again in the same thread and the second answer is usually the one you wanted.
It answered in the wrong language. Ask again in the language you want the answer in and it follows. A question typed in English gets an English answer even from a Spanish speaking rep, so type the way you want to read.
The microphone did not pick anything up. The browser asks for permission to use the microphone the first time; allow it. Then speak at a normal distance, and read what landed in the box before you send it.
The answers are drifting off the subject. Clear the conversation with the trash icon and ask the new question on a clean thread.
You wanted a person. Support is in the top bar, the feedback button on the dock files a bug or a request with a screenshot, and our team can see your screen with you and fix it on the call.
Jax faces you, not your customers
This is the line worth being precise about. Jax helps the people who work at your store. It does not answer your shoppers, text them, or call them, and there is no mode where it sends something without a person reading it first.
The customer facing tools are separate and they are on purpose. A shopper on one of your vehicle pages who taps Ask a Question sends an inquiry that lands in the CRM as a lead, for a person to answer. Live chat on your site is its own product with its own page. And what your store tells the answering service about the phones is a setting of its own in the receptionist and call handling settings, where the call instructions box prompts you with When to transfer, when to take a message, what to ask for. Three different jobs, three different tools, and a rep in the middle of all of them.
Related tasks
Most of what people ask Jax for is wording, and the writing assistant built into the text and email composers is the faster route for that: it drafts in the composer you are already in. The AI writing assistant page covers it, and the LeadLocate Help Center has the step by step guides for texting a customer, sending a vehicle in a text and reading a call transcript.
A store that wants the assistant to know its own way of doing things has a Jax AI Trainer tab on the CRM's training page, where a Master Administrator adds what the store wants it to know. Anything beyond that which your dealership needs is available on request, and our team puts it in production for your store.
