Dealer Inspire Alternative for Car Dealerships
Before you shop replacements, get clear on which half of the problem you are trying to solve. The answer changes what you should be buying.
Start by naming what is actually broken
Almost every search for a website vendor alternative starts with a specific irritation, and the irritation is worth stating out loud before you sit through four demos. In our experience they sort into five buckets, and only some of them are fixed by changing vendors.
Cost and contract. The price went up, the term is longer than you wanted, or you are paying for modules nobody uses. That is a real reason to shop.
Speed of change. You want a landing page for a weekend event and it takes eight days and a ticket. Real reason, though not necessarily a reason to replace the whole site.
Support. You cannot get a human, or the human you get has to escalate everything. Real reason, and worth testing before you sign anywhere else.
Traffic and conversion. The site gets visitors and they leave without submitting anything. Sometimes a platform problem, often a merchandising and photo problem that follows you to the next vendor.
Leads are not worked. This is the big one and it is almost never a website problem. If your average first response is measured in hours and follow up stops after two touches, a new site will change nothing. Be honest about which bucket you are in, because stores that switch vendors to fix a discipline problem switch again eighteen months later.
What Dealer Inspire does well
No disparagement here, because you are going to hear enough of that from other vendors. Dealer Inspire sits in the Cars.com group and is publicly known for dealership website design and hosting, a digital retailing experience on the vehicle detail page, and a messaging product covering website chat and text.
Where a product like that earns its money is shopper experience on your own site. A well merchandised vehicle detail page with credible payment presentation and a chat window that actually gets answered will out convert a generic site, and that is worth paying for. Franchise stores have an additional consideration: manufacturer approved website vendor programs can affect co-op reimbursement, and that is not a small line item.
Feature sets, packaging and program status change, particularly in a group that has reorganized its products more than once. Verify current capability, pricing and contract terms directly with the vendor rather than trusting any comparison page, this one included.
The honest part: we are not a website replacement
If you landed here looking for a company to rebuild your dealership website, we are not it, and we would rather say so on the first screen than waste your afternoon.
We do not sell full dealership websites. We are not an OEM approved website vendor and we do not claim to be. If OEM website compliance is part of your decision, that requirement rules us out of that specific job before anything else gets discussed. The dealer website platform page walks through how to evaluate that category properly.
What we do sell on the shopper facing side is narrower and, for a lot of stores, more useful day to day. Lead pages is a landing page builder with per page URL settings, so a campaign page or an event offer page goes live in an afternoon without a ticket. Personal salesperson websites give each of your people a page of their own. There is a free live chat widget you can put on the site you already have, and customer facing deal pages with e signature for the money conversation.
What LeadLocate actually replaces
The half we do replace is the one most stores under invest in. Two pieces.
Leads. You define a territory around your store and every lead submitted inside that zone is delivered to you and not resold to other dealerships. Inbound buyer leads come from in market shoppers. Opt in seller leads come from local owners who filled out a vehicle offer request and asked to be contacted about selling their vehicle. Nothing is filtered or scored. Pre screening questions are asked at capture, everything in the zone is delivered exclusively, and problem leads go through post delivery replacement review.
The CRM. Lead inbox with distribution rules, contacts and import, SMS and MMS threading, RCS with automatic SMS fallback, click to call with a VoIP softphone, call recording with transcription, voicemail drop, a real email inbox and composer with bulk email and campaigns, automations and follow up processes, drip sequences, appointments, reminders, three reporting layers, role based permissions, and desking that covers loan and lease with a fifty state tax matrix. There is also an email validator, a phone validator, and document AI that scans a VIN or reads a driver license from a photo. Most dealers do not know a CRM can do half of that in house.

Stay where you are if
We would rather tell you now than have you leave and come back.
- Your manufacturer runs an approved website vendor program and your co-op reimbursement depends on it.
- Your site is your largest source of opportunity and a rebuild is a risk you do not need to take this year.
- The support and turnaround you get are good and the only complaint is price. Try renegotiating first. Vendors move at renewal more often than dealers expect.
- Your real problem is photos, pricing and merchandising. That travels with you to any platform.
A vendor change is expensive in ways that never show up on the invoice, which the next section gets into.
What a website change really costs
If you do end up replacing the site, go in with your eyes open about the parts nobody quotes.
- Organic search. Your existing URLs have history. A migration without a complete redirect map loses rankings, sometimes for months. Insist on seeing the redirect plan before launch, not after.
- Content. Every custom page, model research page and specials page has to be rebuilt or migrated. Count them first. Stores are routinely surprised by how many exist.
- Integrations. Everything that currently posts into or pulls from the site has to be repointed. Inventory feed, chat, third party lead providers, trade tools, credit applications, analytics, tag manager, call tracking numbers.
- Overlap. Expect to pay two vendors for a stretch. Cutting over with no overlap is how stores go dark on a Friday.
- Retraining. Your BDC and marketing coordinator learned the old admin. Budget the hours honestly.
The same discipline applies to a CRM change. If that is the piece you are moving, the CRM migration checklist is written to be used with any vendor, not just us.
A safer test than rip and replace
You do not have to bet the store to learn something. Pilot instead.
Leave the website exactly where it is. Point a defined slice of lead flow, one team or one source, at the new lead and CRM layer for three or four weeks. Measure three numbers against the same period on your current setup: time to first response, number of follow up touches before the trail goes cold, and appointments set that showed. Those three tell you more than any demo does.
Month to month pricing exists so that this is possible. A vendor that needs a multi year commitment before you are allowed to evaluate is asking you to carry the risk they will not. If the pilot goes badly you are out a month and you learned something real. If it goes well you expand on evidence instead of hope. The demo is a reasonable first step, and you can contact us to have a territory mapped before you commit anything.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is LeadLocate a replacement for a Dealer Inspire website?
No. We do not build or host full dealership websites and we are not an OEM approved website vendor. We provide lead pages for campaigns, personal salesperson websites, a free live chat widget for your existing site, and customer facing deal pages with e signature.
Then why would a store shopping website vendors talk to you?
Because a lot of stores discover mid search that the site is not the bottleneck. If leads arrive and sit for two hours, a new site will not move your numbers. The lead and CRM layer is the half that changes response time and follow up depth.
Can I keep my current website and still use LeadLocate?
Yes, and that is the normal configuration. Website form submissions post into the CRM, distribution rules assign them, and every text, call, email and voicemail after that lives in one thread on the customer record.
How fast can I publish a campaign landing page?
Lead pages is self service with per page URL settings, so an offer page or event page can be live the same afternoon without filing a ticket with a website vendor. That is often the specific frustration that brings dealers here.
Do you require a DMS integration or an inventory feed?
No. Neither is required to operate. If you do have a feed, Inventory Link can ingest it and advertise your actual vehicles, but brokers and solo salespeople run on the platform without either one.
What does it cost and how long am I committed?
CRM Only starts at $199 per month, and plans that include exclusive local leads start at $799 per month. Everything is month to month with no long term contract. US only. We cannot guarantee lead volume or close rates.
Test the half of the problem a new website will not fix
Leave your site alone for now. Let us map a territory, run one team on the lead and CRM layer for a month, and compare response time and appointments against what you have today.
