VinSolutions AMP Alternative for Car Dealerships

Marketing to the customers you already have is half the job. LeadLocate adds exclusive local leads, a full CRM and a phone system, and runs every campaign from the same customer record.

Dealers look for an alternative to AMP when they want their marketing, their new leads and their follow up in one system instead of several. LeadLocate combines exclusive local leads in a zone you define, a full automotive CRM with bulk texting, bulk email, RCS and voicemail drops, a built in phone system and DealTracker desking, month to month from $199 a month.

What AMP is known for

AMP is the marketing platform in the Cox Automotive family, and many stores meet it through their VinSolutions or Xtime relationship. Its public positioning centers on automated sales and service marketing: campaigns built from the customer data a store already holds, sent across channels such as email and digital, with reporting that ties the messages back to store activity. For a dealership already running several Cox products, it is presented as the marketing layer that sits on top of that data.

That approach suits stores whose customer database is the main marketing asset and whose calendar is built around owner communication: service reminders, lease and loan maturity messages, equity offers and conquest mailers. The platform does the segmenting and the sending, and the sales and service teams handle whatever comes back.

Packaging, channels and pricing change over time, and many stores buy AMP inside a larger bundle. Confirm current scope, pricing and terms with the vendor directly, and use this page as a list of questions to bring to that conversation.

Why stores look past AMP

When a dealer principal or marketing manager calls us about replacing a marketing platform, the reasons tend to repeat, and they are worth naming before any demo.

The database only grows so fast. Marketing to existing owners is valuable, but a store that wants more units needs new shoppers too. Stores want fresh, exclusive local leads arriving every day beside the owner campaigns, on the same record.

The reply lands somewhere else. A campaign that goes out from one tool and gets answered in another leaves reps copying notes between screens. Stores want the send, the reply, the call and the appointment on one timeline.

Bundles make the invoice hard to read. When marketing is priced inside a larger package, it is difficult to see what the campaigns actually cost. Stores want a published price and month to month terms.

Texting has become the main channel. Most customers answer a text long before they open an email. Stores want bulk texting, RCS with automatic SMS fallback and voicemail drops as first class campaign tools, run by the same people who work the leads.

What dealers moving from AMP gain

New customers, not only existing ones. In Leads Manager your store draws its territory with the zone editor, reviews zip stats and a market scan, chooses the campaign type, writes the prescreening questions and sets Custom Offers, then previews sample ads with See Samples. Our team builds and runs the campaigns from those selections on the webXintel Ads Network, included with every plan. Every lead in your zone is delivered to you and only you, prescreened at capture and backed by a replacement review. Add opt in seller leads from local owners who asked for an offer, and acquisition runs on the same platform.

Campaign tools the sales floor already uses. Bulk Texting with recipient lists, SMS campaigns, Texting Chatbots, Text Automation, Bulk Email with recipient management, Email Automation drips, Voicemail Drops and scheduled sends all live in the CRM your reps open every morning. A reply to a campaign text lands in the same SMS inbox as a new lead.

One customer record. Every call with its recording and transcript, every text, MMS, email and voicemail sits on one communications timeline, so a rep sees the campaign message the customer is answering before picking up the phone.

A phone system built into the CRM. Tracking numbers per source, a browser softphone, call recording with transcription, an IVR call flow builder and business hours routing, so campaign calls reach a person and show up on the lead.

Owner campaigns run from the same CRM

The campaigns a marketing platform is bought for, service to sales, lease and loan maturity, equity offers and unsold showroom follow up, all start from a list. In LeadLocate that list is built from the leads and contacts already in the CRM, selected by status, tag, lead type or source, or brought in through contact import from any spreadsheet the store exports from the systems it runs.

From there a manager picks the channel. A bulk text can carry a trackable short link with click stats, so a manager sees which message drew interest. An RCS message goes out as a rich message and falls back to SMS automatically on any phone that needs it. A voicemail drop reaches a list with a recorded message from the salesperson. A bulk email goes out from your own authenticated domain. Each message can be scheduled for the hour your customers actually read.

The inventory insert button in every text and email composer attaches a real unit with photos and price, so a maturity message can show the exact vehicle the customer is likely to want. For ideas on sequencing, our pages on service to sales campaigns and dealership email marketing walk through the timing stores use.

When a customer answers, the reply lands in the assigned rep's inbox, notifications fire on the channels that rep chose, and the conversation continues on the customer's record.

Clean lists reach more customers

A marketing campaign is only as good as the list it goes to, and most dealership databases carry years of mistyped numbers and abandoned email addresses. LeadLocate builds list hygiene into the CRM.

The Phone Validator checks numbers before a campaign goes out and shows a validity dot right on the lead. The Email Validator does the same for addresses, which protects the sending reputation of your own domain. Prepaid usage credits for validation, bulk texting, bulk email and ringless voicemail are bought in My LeadLocate and applied to the account right away.

The DNC Blacklist page keeps opted out numbers out of every send, blocks inbound spam in both directions and runs a live do not call lookup on numbers. Blacklist import brings in any opt out list the store already keeps, so nobody who asked to be left alone hears from you again. Email domain authentication means your campaigns go out as your store, from your domain.

Merge duplicates brings split records back together, custom statuses and tags let a manager build the exact segment a campaign needs, and the Trash Bin holds anything deleted by mistake so it can be restored. The result is a list that gets smaller in the right places and reaches more real customers every time it is used.

A switching plan that keeps campaigns running

Moving a marketing program is mostly a matter of order. Run it in this sequence and no customer message goes unanswered.

  1. List every live campaign. Write down each automated message the store sends today, its audience, its channel and who answers the replies.
  2. Export and import the customer list. Contact import brings your existing customers into the CRM on day one. Run the Phone Validator and Email Validator before the first send.
  3. Rebuild the top campaigns first. Recreate the three campaigns that produce the most appointments using Follow Up Processes, Text Automation, Email Automation and scheduled sends.
  4. Set up the zone. In Leads Manager your store draws its territory and writes the prescreening questions. The account is set up for you, usually the same day.
  5. Move the phones and forms. Assign tracking numbers per source and connect your website forms to your account's form intake link.

Our migration checklist covers each step in detail, and training is included with every plan through the video library and Live Training sessions.

Questions to settle before you sign

Bring the same list to every vendor meeting, ours included, and ask for the answers in writing.

What does the marketing piece cost on its own, outside any bundle? Which channels are included, and which cost extra per message? Where do replies land, and who sees them? Can we bring our own customer list, and can we take it with us, including the communication history? Is there new lead supply, and is it exclusive to our store? How long is the agreement and what is the notice period?

Our answers are on the pricing page: Inbound buyer leads from $799, Marketplace Acquisitions seller leads from $999, the Buyers & Sellers Hybrid Plan from $1,599, CRM Only from $199 and Skip A Month from $199, all month to month. Every plan with leads includes the CRM, because the platform is what receives and delivers them. The recorded demo shows the product without a sales call.

We cannot guarantee lead counts, response rates or sales results, since those depend on your market, your offers and your team. What we deliver is new supply, clean lists and one place to work every reply.
