How to Set up Auto Broker Mode in Inventory Link

A broker sells without a lot, so Inventory Link hands you brand offer pages instead of a feed. Here is the whole setup, from the first sign in to the first request.

Auto broker mode is how Inventory Link works for a broker with no lot. Sign in, fill in Store details, and skip the feed: your brand offer pages come online under your own name right away. Then set Where the leads go so every request reaches the person who answers it, in the CRM and in the inbox.

Step by Step

  1. Open Inventory Link

Sign in to My LeadLocate and launch Inventory Link from the same place you launch the CRM. A broker signs in with the same login a franchise store uses, so there is nothing separate to buy and nothing to install on a computer. The portal opens on the dashboard.

  2. Fill in your store details

Open Store details and enter Store name exactly as shoppers know you, then the number you actually answer in Phone. If you already have a site of your own, put its address in Website. These fields are what your public pages are built from, so spell the name the way it should appear in print.

  3. Leave the feed alone

On the dashboard, Your feeds stays empty. That is broker mode: an inventory feed and DMS access are not required to run the platform, which is exactly why a broker with no lot can work here the day the account opens. Nothing is waiting on a feed to be built.

  4. Check your brand offer pages

Open the brand pages the account created for you and read one the way a shopper would. Each page carries the make, the offer cards, and a request form under them. A shopper picks the brand, describes the unit they want, and the finder goes and locates it. Send the link to yourself and fill the form in once so you see the confirmation the shopper sees.

  5. Point the leads at the right person

In the builder, set Where the leads go and put the address that should get the alert in Email the lead to. Use See the leads to open the list and confirm your test request is sitting at the top with the phone number and the notes on it.

  6. Put the pages on your own site

If you run a site of your own, take the direct link or the Embed code and drop it in. Leave Show matching vehicles from your inventory switched off while you have no units of your own; turn it on the day you start listing cars you hold, and the same page starts showing them.

  7. Add the people who answer

Open the team area and use Add a User for each person who works your requests, with their Email address and a Role. Everyone gets their own sign in, so the lead history reads as who did what rather than as one shared login.

Before you start

You need a My LeadLocate login with Inventory Link on the account. A broker signs up the same way a rooftop does, so there is nothing extra to arrange first. You do not need a lot, a feed, a DMS connection or a photographer, and you do not need a developer to put anything live.

Have three things in front of you: the name shoppers know you by, the phone number you answer on a Saturday, and the email address that should receive a request. If you already own a website, have its address handy too. Everything else on the page is filled in for you. If you want the business case before the setup, read the auto broker lead generation page first, then come back here for the clicks.

What you should see

The moment Store details is saved, your brand offer pages read as yours: your name, your number, your offers. Each make gets a page, each page carries offer cards and a request form, and the whole thing works on a phone with the panels rising from the bottom of the screen the way a shopper expects.

On the dashboard, Your feeds shows nothing and Vehicles reads zero. That is right. What fills up instead is the request list: who asked, what they are looking for, how they plan to pay, and how to reach them. The same person is a lead record in LeadLocate CRM, with the texting thread, the call button and the follow up process already attached, so a broker works a request exactly the way a store works a lead.

What a broker does differently

A franchise store starts from a feed and merchandises what is on the ground. You start from a brand and a buyer. The page does the shopping for you: the finder takes a description in plain words, the make, the model, the budget, the trade, and turns it into a request you can quote. Your job is the sourcing, so the software carries the part that used to be a spreadsheet and three phone tabs.

Two habits pay off fast. First, answer with the unit, not with a question; a request that gets a real quote inside the hour is the one that closes. Second, keep every conversation in the CRM instead of your personal phone, because a broker who changes phones should never lose a buyer. Both are covered on the LeadLocate Help Center.

If it did not work

No brand pages appear. Store details is not saved. Open it again, confirm Store name and Phone both carry values, and save. Your pages are built from those two fields and stay blank until they are filled.

Your test request never arrived. Check Email the lead to for a typo and check Where the leads go points at the right place. The request is still in the list either way, so open See the leads and you will find it even when the alert went to the wrong address.

The page shows no vehicles. That is broker mode doing its job. Show matching vehicles from your inventory stays off until you list units you hold yourself, and a shopper still gets offers, a brand page and a form without it.

A teammate has no way in. They have not been invited yet. Use Add a User, send the invite, and have them set their own password from the email. Roles decide what each person sees.

Related tasks

Everything Inventory Link does for a store with a lot, from feeds to the website builder to the embeddable widget, is on the Inventory Link product page. The CRM side, where the request becomes a worked lead with texts, calls and appointments, is on the LeadLocate CRM page, and the month to month plans are on pricing.

The Help Center carries the step by step guides for the tasks that come next: importing inventory from your website the day you start holding units, setting your follow up process, and connecting a calendar so a shopper books their own appointment. A broker workflow you need that you do not see here is available on request, and our team puts it in production for your dealership.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an inventory feed to use auto broker mode?

No. Broker mode is built for a broker with no lot: the brand offer pages, the finder and the request forms all work with no feed and no DMS access on the account.

Where do my broker leads land?

In the Inventory Link request list and in LeadLocate CRM as a lead record, with the shopper's notes, phone number and budget attached, so you can text or call from the same screen.

Can I add my own vehicles later?

Yes. The day you start holding units, list them or import them from your website, then switch on Show matching vehicles from your inventory and the same pages start showing your cars.

Can my whole team work the requests?

Yes. Add a User invites each person with their own sign in and role, and every text, call and note is recorded against the person who made it.
