Digital Retail Checkout on Your Deal Pages

The customer who wants to finish most of the deal from the couch is not a problem to manage. Give them a page where they can, with your salesperson still on the thread.

Digital retail checkout is the customer side of a DealTracker deal page. A shopper opens the store's branded deal page from a text, builds the deal, uploads documents for review, reviews the deal terms and requests a shipping quote, while the salesperson watches every step from the CRM and answers in Deal Chat. It is part of the LeadLocate platform, with e-signature and the SecureWebX credit application one tap away.

What digital retail checkout does on a deal page

Digital retail checkout lets a customer work through a deal on the store's own deal page: build the deal around the selected vehicle, review the documents the store asks for and upload them, review the deal itself, and request a shipping quote if the car is coming to them. Every step happens on a page that is skinned to the store, reached from a link the salesperson sent, and protected by the PIN the customer was given. That is the one sentence version. It is the checkout experience shoppers expect from every other purchase, attached to a real deal in DealTracker instead of a marketing widget that emails a form somewhere.

It is worth being exact about what it is not. It is a review flow, not a payment rail. The customer reviews the numbers and tells the store how they intend to pay; money changes hands the way your store already handles it. Anyone selling you a deal page that quietly turns into a card processor is selling you a second business to run. This one keeps the deal where the deal belongs, on the customer deal page with e-signature, with the checkout steps layered on top.

How a deal moves through checkout on a normal Tuesday

A customer texted about a used SUV on Monday. The salesperson desked it in EZ Desking, shared the deal page by text, and the customer opened it that night on the couch. On the page they see the selected vehicle with year, make, model, trim, miles and VIN, the sale price and the payment structure the salesperson set. They build the deal from there: choose between the finance term options the store exposed, add the trade the salesperson already entered, and leave a comment asking whether the second key was found.

Tuesday morning the salesperson sees the comment in Deal Chat inside the CRM and answers. The customer uploads proof of income and proof of residence from their phone into the document review step, and those files land on the deal in the CRM, not in a personal inbox. They review the deal, sign where the page asks, and because they live two hours away, request a shipping quote with their address. The manager sees the completed page from the deal view, the finance office sees the uploads, and the customer taps Open secure credit application to finish the application on SecureWebX before they ever drive to the store.

Nothing in that day required a phone call to relay a document or a number. The salesperson stayed on the thread, the customer worked at their own pace, and the store held the record of every step. That is what checkout on a deal page changes: the customer does real work on the deal, and it all lands in one place.

Where it lives: Digital Retail Controls in the deal view

Digital retail checkout is switched on per deal from the Desking menu in LeadLocate CRM. Open a deal and look for Digital Retail Controls in the deal view. That panel decides which checkout steps the customer sees on their page: the build step, document review, deal review and the shipping quote. A store that only wants documents collected on the page turns on document review and leaves the rest off. A store that ships cars turns on the shipping quote. The salesperson does not need a web developer or a vendor ticket to change what a customer sees; it is a set of controls on the deal.

The customer's side is the deal page itself, hosted on the store's branded deal page domain and reached from the share link with PIN access. The page shows their selected vehicle, their salesperson, notes from the salesperson and the checkout steps in order. On mobile the salesperson follows the same deal through the Deal Chats inbox in the LeadLocate mobile app, so a question asked at nine at night gets answered from a phone rather than waiting for the desk.

Uploaded documents sit with the deal. A document a customer replaces goes to the trash bin, where it can be restored, so a wrong upload is not a lost one.

What it replaces, and what digital retail costs elsewhere

Digital retail is sold to dealerships as a separate product with its own monthly fee, its own website plugin, its own login and its own lead form that emails the store a PDF nobody can edit. The customer builds a deal in the vendor's tool and then the salesperson rebuilds it in the store's system, because the two never agreed on the numbers. The first thing the customer hears when they arrive is that the payment on the website was an estimate.

On a DealTracker deal page, the numbers the customer sees are the numbers the salesperson desked, from the same engine that runs the desking tool. There is no second system to reconcile. The checkout steps are part of the platform subscription rather than a separate line on the bill, and a store that wants to compare can put the cost of a standalone digital retail contract next to the pricing page, where CRM Only starts at $199 a month and includes DealTracker.

It also replaces the relay work. Documents arrive on the deal instead of by text to a personal phone. Questions arrive in Deal Chat instead of in a voicemail. The shipping request arrives with an address instead of as a note that says "ask about delivery."

The compliance angle: one record of what the customer saw, signed and sent

A deal page keeps a record. The customer opens it with a PIN, so access is controlled and the store can revoke a share or void a deal page when circumstances change. Revisions are kept, so if the numbers changed between Monday and Tuesday, the revision view shows what the customer saw each time. The signature is captured on the page against the deal as it stood when they signed, and the documents they uploaded in document review attach to that same deal.

This matters because the alternative is a chain of texts and screenshots where nobody can say which version of the payment the customer agreed to. When a customer later disputes what was offered, or a manager audits a deal, the deal page and its history answer the question. Personal information the customer provides, from the documents to the profile details, lands in the Customer Profile where it is stored encrypted, not in a salesperson's photo library. And because the page is a review flow, the store's own payment handling, disclosures and contracting steps happen where they always have, under the store's existing process and counsel.

How to turn it on

Open any deal from the Desking menu in LeadLocate CRM, find Digital Retail Controls in the deal view, and switch on the checkout steps you want the customer to see. Share the deal page by text or email from the same view, and the customer's page shows those steps in order. Centralized deal defaults set the structures and terms a customer can choose from when they build the deal, so the store decides the menu once and every deal page follows it.

A store that wants a specific document list per deal type, a custom section on the checkout page, or a particular hand-off to the finance office when a customer finishes the review step can ask for it; our team puts it in production for your dealership. Everything described on this page is live in every plan, and the pre-recorded live demo shows a deal page going out by text and coming back with documents and a signature.

What to pair it with

Digital retail checkout is a layer on the deal page, so it works best with the tools on either side of it. Before checkout, EZ Desking worksheets structure the deal the customer will build from, and the multi-pencil grid lets the salesperson expose sensible options rather than one take-it-or-leave-it number. During checkout, Deal Chat keeps the salesperson on the thread with link previews and photo drops, and the trade-in form with photos and VIN scan captures the customer's vehicle when they add it.

After checkout, the customer taps into SecureWebX for the credit application on their own phone, the finance office works it from the application inbox, and the Road to Sale checklist on the deal shows the manager what is done and what is left. For a customer who wants a printed recap, print packets with payment ranges come off the same deal. The all features list shows how the pieces line up, and the platform page explains why they share one login and one customer record.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does digital retail checkout take payments or deposits from my customers?

No. It is a review flow on the deal page. The customer reviews the deal and indicates how they intend to pay; the money is handled through your store's existing process. Payment review on the page is a review step, not a payment rail.

Which steps can a customer complete on the deal page?

Build the deal around the selected vehicle, upload documents for review, review and sign the deal, and request a shipping quote. Digital Retail Controls in the deal view decide which of those steps appear on a given deal.

Are the payments on the deal page the same as what the salesperson desked?

Yes. The deal page reads from the same DealTracker engine as EZ Desking, with the store's centralized deal defaults, so the customer sees the structures the salesperson set rather than a separate estimate.

Where do the documents a customer uploads end up?

On the deal in LeadLocate CRM, next to the Deal Jacket, visible to the salesperson and the finance office. A replaced upload goes to the trash bin and can be restored.

Can the customer start the credit application from the checkout page?

Yes. The deal page carries an Open secure credit application link into SecureWebX, so a customer who has reviewed the deal completes the five step application on their own phone and the finance office works it from the application inbox.

Is digital retail checkout a separate product or fee?

It is part of DealTracker, which is included in every LeadLocate plan, month to month. CRM Only starts at $199 a month; the pricing page lists the plans that add exclusive local leads.
