AutoFi Alternative for Car Dealerships
Digital retailing and lead generation are not the same purchase. Here is how to tell which one your store is actually short on.
Start by naming the problem you are solving
Most stores that go looking for an alternative are not unhappy with a specific feature. They are unhappy with a result, and when you press them the result is usually one of three things.
There are not enough shoppers to put through it. A digital retailing tool converts traffic you already have. If your site sees modest traffic, a better checkout does not create demand out of nothing. The shortage sits upstream, in lead generation, and polishing the online buying flow will not touch it. This is the most common version and it is the one that sends dealers to us.
Customers use the tool and the store does not. Online deals arrive, then sit, because nobody owns the follow up and the submitted deal does not live where salespeople live all day. That is a CRM and process problem wearing a digital retailing costume. Changing digital retailing vendors will reproduce it exactly.
The cost cannot be tied to a return. You are paying for a platform whose contribution you cannot separate from the rest of your website traffic. That is a fair reason to shop, but it is worth writing down what you would need to see in order to keep paying, before you sit through anybody's demo.
Only the first two get solved by changing what you buy. Read the rest of this page with your own answer in mind, because it decides whether we are relevant to your store at all.
What AutoFi is built to do
AutoFi is a digital retailing and online sales platform for dealerships. In public terms it puts a vehicle buying flow on the dealer's own website so a shopper can build a deal, look at payment and financing options, work through trade and paperwork steps online, and carry that progress into the store instead of starting over at a desk. It aims at the transaction end of the funnel: the shopper who has already found your vehicle and is deciding how to buy it.
That is a real category and it is not the category we sell. Stores that get value from it usually share three traits. They have genuine website traffic. They keep online pricing credible, which means the merchandising discipline is already in place. And their sales floor has agreed to honor what the website told the customer, which is a management commitment rather than a software setting.
Packaging, integration lists and pricing in digital retailing change often, and vendors add and retire capability between one year and the next. Treat anything on a comparison page, this one included, as a starting point rather than a fact. Confirm current capability, the integration list, contract length and price directly with the vendor before you decide anything. We deliberately do not publish competitor pricing or feature claims we cannot verify.
What LeadLocate is built to do
LeadLocate works the other end of the funnel. It is a lead generation platform with a full CRM built around it, sold to dealerships and to individual salespeople on month to month terms.
On the lead side you choose a territory around your store, and leads inside that zone come to you exclusively rather than being sold to three rooftops at the same time. There are two families. Inbound buyer leads come from in market shoppers. Opt in seller leads come from local owners who filled out one of our vehicle offer request pages and asked to be contacted about selling their car. Nothing is filtered or scored. We ask pre screening questions at capture and deliver every submitted lead in your zone, and problems are handled by post delivery replacement review rather than by a quality promise made up front. The what to expect page is blunt about how real shoppers behave.
On the software side you get a lead inbox and detail view, SMS and MMS with RCS and automatic SMS fallback, click to call with a VoIP softphone, call recording with transcription, voicemail drop, a real email inbox and composer, bulk email with recipient management, automations and follow up processes, drip campaigns, appointments and reminders, DealTracker desking covering loan and lease with a fifty state tax matrix, lead pages, personal salesperson websites, a free live chat widget for your site, document AI for VIN scanning, and three layers of reporting. The desking tool is the piece dealers consistently underestimate until they see it price a lease with the right tax method.

Choose AutoFi if
We would rather tell you this now than have you buy from us and leave in four months. Stay where you are, or pick a digital retailing platform over us, if these describe your store.
- Your website already produces meaningful traffic and the gap is conversion of that traffic, not the amount of it.
- You want the customer to complete financing steps and lender workflow online, with the vendor handling that connection. We do not do that part.
- Your group has committed to an online buying experience as a strategy, and consistency across rooftops matters more than the cost of any one tool.
- You already have lead sources and a CRM you are satisfied with, and the missing piece is the last mile of the transaction.
- Your OEM or your group standard specifies a digital retailing partner. That decision is usually not yours to relitigate.
If that is your situation, the honest answer is that we are not a substitute. We might still be worth a conversation as the layer above it, which is the next section.
Choose LeadLocate if
The case for us is strongest when several of these are true together.
- Traffic is the constraint. You need more people in the top of the funnel before a better checkout matters.
- You want leads and CRM from one vendor on one bill instead of stitching two together and owning the integration yourself.
- You want exclusive local leads rather than shared internet leads that three stores are calling within the same minute.
- You are independent, used car focused, or a buy here pay here store, and enterprise franchise depth is surface area you pay for and never use.
- Contract length is a sticking point. Month to month means we have to earn the renewal every thirty days.
- You want individual salespeople running on the platform with their own salesperson website, not just the store.
- You do not have, or do not want to depend on, a DMS integration or an inventory feed. Neither is required to operate.
If acquisition is part of the plan as well, the seller leads page covers how opt in offer requests from local owners work.
What we do on the online and F&I side, stated precisely
This is where comparison pages usually get vague, so here is the exact line.
We do provide: secure online credit applications through SecureWebX, apply links that a salesperson can text to a customer or drop on a page, an application inbox, document collection, identity verification at intake, a compliance module with versioned consent, worksheets that run the same desking math as the CRM engine, and eFax. On the customer facing side we provide deal pages a shopper can open on their phone with e signature, a payment calculator, a trade in offer tool, lead pages with per page URL settings, and a free live chat widget.
We do not provide: eContracting, lender portal integration or submission, automated credit decisioning, or F&I menu selling with product rating. None of that is built, and we will not imply otherwise on a page you might make a purchase decision from. If lender connectivity is the requirement, we are the wrong vendor for that requirement.
The digital F&I page lays out the same boundary in more detail, and online credit application software covers the intake side on its own.
Running both instead of replacing one
Plenty of stores should keep the digital retailing tool and add the lead and CRM layer above it, and that is a legitimate outcome of reading this page.
The two do not fight. Leads land in the CRM, get worked with texting, calls and follow up processes, and the shopper who wants to build their own deal online goes into the retailing flow when they are ready. What you gain is that nothing depends on the customer remembering to come back. A follow up process runs whether or not anyone on the floor is having a good week.
If you do decide to replace something, the costs that hurt are never on the invoice. Data export in a usable format, an overlap period where you pay two vendors for a few weeks, a productivity dip of two to four weeks while people relearn habits, and repointing every third party that currently posts into the system. Make the integration list before you start rather than during. Our CRM migration checklist works through the sequence in order and is written to be used with any vendor, not only with us.
Questions worth asking both vendors, including us
Take these into every demo. The answers separate vendors faster than any feature grid, and the discomfort in the room tells you as much as the words.
What is the total monthly cost with every module I actually need, and what does it become at renewal? What is the contract length and what is the cancellation process in writing? Exactly what can I export if I leave, in what format, and does it include communication history? Who owns the customer data? How long is implementation and what does my store have to supply? What does support look like at six on a Saturday evening? If leads are included, are they exclusive to my store, and how is the territory defined? What happens when a lead is bad?
Write the answers down and date them. Vendors comfortable being pinned down in writing tend to be the ones still worth having in year three. We cannot guarantee lead counts, close rates or sales results, and neither can anyone else, so be suspicious of any answer involving guaranteed volume. If you would rather see ours answered live, the demo is the fastest way, or contact us and ask directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is LeadLocate a digital retailing platform?
No. We provide customer facing deal pages with e signature, a payment calculator, a trade in tool and lead pages, but we do not sell an online checkout with lender submission or automated decisioning. If that is the requirement, evaluate a dedicated digital retailing vendor.
Can we use LeadLocate alongside a digital retailing tool?
Yes, and for many stores that is the better answer. Leads and follow up live in the CRM, and shoppers who want to build a deal online go into the retailing flow when they are ready. Neither system requires the other.
Do you connect to lenders?
No. SecureWebX handles online credit applications, shareable apply links, document collection, identity verification at intake and a compliance module with versioned consent. There is no lender portal integration, eContracting or automated decisioning.
Do we need a DMS integration or an inventory feed?
Neither is required to operate, which is why brokers and individual salespeople can run on the platform. If you do have a feed, Inventory Link can ingest it and advertise your actual vehicles.
What does it cost to find out?
CRM Only starts at $199 a month if you already have lead sources. Plans that include exclusive local leads start at $799 a month. Everything is month to month with no long term contract. See the pricing page for the full list.
How current is the AutoFi information on this page?
It reflects public positioning at the time of writing and deliberately avoids naming their pricing or integration list. Digital retailing capability changes often, so verify anything decision relevant directly with the vendor.
Find out whether your gap is traffic or conversion
We will map a territory around your store, show you the CRM working real lead flow, and give you a straight number. Month to month, so staying is your call every month.
